Recruitment notice: A LOGISTICS ASSISTANT
DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
CALL FOR INTERNAL/EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A LOGISTICS ASSISTANT FOR THE FOREST, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE PROJECT OF DEUTSCHE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT (GIZ/ProFEC) GmbH BASED IN BERTOUA.
General context
With the aim of accentuating the impact at the territorial level, the objective of the Forest, Environment and Climate Project (ProFEC) will now be that “The environment, including forest resources, of Cameroon, are managed in an inclusive, sustainable manner and sensitive to the climate by local actors in selected municipalities”.
The program’s intervention areas will be the Far North, North, East and Center regions. The project intends to deploy further by relying on an approach to achieve four (04) Outputs:
- Output 1: At the local level, the technical and institutional framework conditions for sustainable and inclusive management of forest resources, including biological diversity, have been created.
- Output 2: The conditions for profitable, sustainable and inclusive exploitation of non-timber forest products (NTFP) are improved.
- Output 3: The framework conditions for efficient, environmentally and climate-friendly recovery of sawmill waste produced in large sawmills are improved.
- Output 4: The tools of qualified actors for environmental education, environmental awareness and environmental monitoring are strengthened at the local level.
To this end, the Forest, Environment and Climate Project (GIZ/ProFEC) is currently looking for a (01) Logistics Assistant.
A- Area of responsibility and attributions
Under the supervision of the Administrative and Financial Manager, the Assistant. e Logistics is in charge of the following tasks within the Eastern branch of the Forest, Environment and Climate Project (ProFEC) in Bertoua :
- Manage the stock of office supplies and equipment;
- Manage inventory;
- Support the logistics of workshops and missions.
1. Inventory and stock
- Receive and check the equipment and miscellaneous purchases delivered in accordance with the order, sign the delivery slips, submit them for the co-signature of the applicant;
- Manage the stock of office supplies and other materials (IT, vehicle spare parts, etc.);
- Distribute the material within the branch according to the prescribed rules;
- Manage physical inventories and the software thus references the lists displayed in each office and stick inventory labels to the equipment;
- Maintain all documentation of stock and inventory entries and exits;
- Maintain inventory lists in offices;
- Maintain specific lists of cars, IT equipment, etc.;
- Support auction, disposal and transfer to partners;
- Ensure the proper functioning of all equipment;
- Support the clarification of problem cases (lack of concordance);
2- Logistical support for activities and missions
Support the development of activity budgets and mission advances:
- Support the organization of workshops (preparation of ZOPP materials, documentation, participant kit, etc.);
- Accompany technical colleagues in the field in fairly basic conditions in order to ensure administrative-financial/logistical assistance of activities and the “4 eyes” principle;
- Manage advances on activities while respecting the principles of commercial precaution and cash management;
- Collect all necessary documents from the land in due form
- Ensure that attendance lists and payment lists are correctly completed;
- Make payments to participants during workshops;
- Support the processing of activity counts;
- Ensure the 2 week deadline for justification of advances received.
3- Other attributions:
- Carry out all other tasks and activities on instructions from your supervisor.
REQUIRED PROFILE
B- Qualifications, experience and skills required
Qualifications
- Have at least BAC + 2 in the field of Management, Management Sciences, Economics, Accounting, Finance or other equivalent diploma.
Professional experience :
-
- Have at least three (03) years of proven professional experience in a similar position;
- Experience in an international organization would be an asset;
- Have a good command of IT tools: Windows environment, Office package software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook,) accounting software (WINPACCS, Cashbook) and telecommunications instruments (telephone, email, Internet, photocopier, etc. .);
- Have a good command of administrative management;
- Have a good knowledge of the general rules of Accounting;
- Have experience in event management;
- Be able to work under pressure and within a multicultural team.
Other knowledge/skills:
-
- Have fluency in French and/or English;
- Have knowledge of purchasing and inventory management;
- Have good communication skills and a sense of teamwork;
- Have a constructive attitude in the event of difficulties or conflict;
- Be able to communicate adequately with Project partners;
- Have a sense of organization and respect for deadlines;
- Have a sense of integrity;
- GIZ experience would be an asset.
Contract start date : 01/15/2024
Contract period : Until 31.12.2024
Duty station : Bertoua
Deadline for admissibility of application files: November 22, 2023
Internal classification of the position: Band 2A under the hierarchical supervision of the Administrative and Financial Manager of the Project.
