Action Against Hunger is an international, apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
A TRANSLATION INTERN
Home base: Yaoundé
Number of positions: 01
Duration of contract: 03 months
Desired start date: 04/01/2024
Supervised by: HR Department Manager
- CONTEXT
Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international, apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The implementation of its activities is done in the French-speaking and English-speaking zone, hence the need to have documents from French to English and vice versa. One of the actions of the Human Resources department is to translate all of its policies and procedures from French to English. This translation will strengthen communication within teams and strengthen social cohesion among teams who will be able to have HR documents and policies in the language of their choice. It is with this in mind that the recruitment of a translation intern is required to translate from French to English and from English to French.
- DUTIES OF THE INTERN
∙ Collect and analyze the documents to be translated;
∙ Translate documents from French to English;
∙ Translate documents from English to French;
∙ Check the consistency of the translation in accordance with the work context;
∙ Classify and archive the translated documents in an NHF KIT.
III. DIPLOMA/LEVEL OF STUDY AND EXPERIENCE
⮚ University diploma (Bac+4/5) not more than 18 months old in Translation;
⮚ Be perfectly bilingual.
- REQUIRED SKILLS
∙ Skills required:
– Writing and analytical knowledge;
– Sense of organization;
– Creativity and responsiveness;
– Analytical mind;
– Autonomy;
– Team spirit.
∙ Technical knowledge:
- good knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word; Excel; Power point),
- Outlook and internet.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE
The Action Against Hunger recruitment procedure includes 3 key steps:
- A pre-selection based on the application submitted (only candidates whose skills and experience correspond to the profile described in the offer are selected for the written test)
- A written technical test
- An oral interview For each stage, only the selected candidates are contacted.
