The Pasteur Center of Cameroon (CPC) is recruiting a Biostatistician for service needs as part of the AFROSCREEN-EWS and AMAX projects

Position: Biostatistician.
Type of contract: 02-year fixed-term contract.
Category: 10/A

Location: Pasteur Center of Cameroon (CPC), General Directorate, General Services, Yaoundé.
Environment:
The Pasteur Center of Cameroon (CPC) is a public hospital establishment under Cameroonian law placed under the dual supervision of the Ministries of Public Health and Finance. Reference and public health laboratory, and member of the International Network of Pasteurs Institutes (RIIP). One of the main missions of the CPC is to contribute to strengthening disease surveillance at MINSANTE of MNEPIA through two actions: health monitoring and analysis of surveillance data.
Main mission: the biostatistician will be in charge of data analysis and the development of the data visualization and reporting platform.

Main activities:
o Database Design: Participate in the design, development and implementation of databases for epidemiology and public health projects; o Statistical analysis: Design, plan and carry out complex statistical analyzes to assess the incidence, prevalence and dynamics of respiratory infections as part of the EWS-AFROSCREEN project; o Modeling: Actively contribute to the AMAX project to build capacity in modeling for women’s health by developing and applying advanced statistical models
to understand o Collaboration between epidemiologists, biostatistic approaches o Data management: quality and the integrity of trends and risk factors associated with women’s health; ciplinary: Work closely with researchers,
public health specialists, and other team members to integrate ics into study design, implementation, and interpretation; participate in the collection, cleaning and management of data, ensuring data necessary for statistical analyses;
Reference and Public Health Laboratory

o Reports and publications: Prepare technical reports, presentations and contribute to the writing of scientific articles based on project results;
o Training: Participate in training activities as part of the modeling capacity building project, sharing statistical knowledge with team members and project partners.
Profile sought

o Training: Minimum degree in bio statistics, data science or any other equivalent diploma; o Professional experience: 02 years minimum in a similar position;
NB: demonstrated experience in statistical analysis applied to public health problems will be an asset.
Technical and behavioral skills required:
o Mastery of statistical software such as R, SAS, or STATA.
o Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English c Ability to work independently and in a team o Availability, Rigor and Responsiveness, Curiosity, Speed, Organizational spirit;
