SUMMARY OF POSITIONS
UNESCO, UNFPA, ILO and UNWOMEN have requested the support of the Cameroonian Government to obtain funding from the Secretary General’s Fund for the Consolidation of Peace in order to implement the project called: “Support for the implementation of the national civic education program for the strengthening of peace, peaceful cohabitation and living together in the communities affected by the crises in Cameroon”. The objective of the project is to increase the participation of young women and men from communities affected by the crises in Cameroon in the consolidation of peace by strengthening civic and citizenship education and entrepreneurial capacities.
To facilitate its implementation, the UNESCO Regional Office for Central Africa wishes to recruit a Consultant to support the coordinator of the PBF-PRONEC project.
The incumbent will be placed under the authority of the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Yaoundé, the general supervision of the Head of the Human and Social Sciences Sector and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator. As such, the consultant will work closely with the Project Coordinator to ensure the following responsibilities:
Support for the management and coordination of the project
Provide support to the Project Coordinator in the implementation implementation and monitoring of activities;
Participate in the development of the joint schedule of activities and the preparation of coordination meetings;
Contribute to the implementation of a monitoring tool to assess the progress of the project;
Provide expertise for the implementation of the various components and activities of the project;
Participate in the establishment of an effective system for sharing information and visibility of the project;
Participate in the selection of beneficiaries in accordance with the project document;
Propose innovative ideas for better consideration of the gender approach during the implementation of the project;
Provide administrative and logistical support during field activities;
Participate in the production of the various deliverables;
Participate in the collection of data from beneficiary agencies and in the preparation of monitoring reports;
Work with project stakeholders: sector ministries, UN agencies, decentralized local authorities, civil society organizations (CSOs) for better project ownership;
Participate in the development of various reports;
Perform other project-related tasks as requested by the Humanities and Social Sciences Program Specialist or the Project Coordinator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Advanced university degree (Master II or equivalent), in the field of human and social sciences, peace and development, international development, political science and international relations or any other related discipline; Professional experience Relevant professional experience of at least 05 years in the fields of management, coordination of development and/or humanitarian projects or programs;
Experience in conflict analysis and conflict-sensitive programming in the implementation of projects related to conflict prevention, peaceful cohabitation and peacebuilding;
Relevant experience in results-based management (RBM);
Relevant experience on the issue of citizenship education and youth;
Experience in project monitoring and evaluation;
Previous experience with the United Nations would be an asset.

Good knowledge of the project implementation areas;
In-depth knowledge of peacebuilding and citizenship education issues;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Ability to work in a team and within multicultural and multisectoral teams;

Excellent knowledge (oral and written) of French or English and a good knowledge of the other.
