(01) DEPUTY PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE SEMBE I PROJECT BASED IN MAROUA

Who are we ?
The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve the social situation of the Cameroonian population in a sustainable and measurable manner and to promote the health and prosperity of families. Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to deliver high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria control, HIV and hepatitis control. among others.

The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) obtained funding from the “System to End the Malaria Burden Through Meaningful Engagement (SEMBE l)” of the United States Agency for Development (USAID) to support the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP) team to lead and implement evidence-based malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment services at regional and community levels, focused on the region of The Far North of Cameroon. This project also strengthens the Government’s capacity to guide and promote local solutions in the fight against malaria in line with the objectives of the Republic of Cameroon and in support of the USAlD priorities described in the cooperation strategy for development of the country 2020-2025 (CDCS).
Based in the Far North region, the project will implement a sustainable and evidence-based approach to the control and elimination of malaria, through four objectives: – Objective 1: Increase access
and the use of quality malaria diagnosis, insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), and drug-based prevention and treatment services at the facility and community levels.
Objective 2: Increase the adoption of prevention and treatment-seeking behaviors for malaria and other febrile illnesses.
– Objective 3: Improve access to quality data on malaria and their use.
Objective 4: Strengthen health systems to optimize planning, coordination and management of the local response to malaria and other febrile illnesses.

 

 

 

Your Contribution:
– Participate in activities to develop the work plan, prevention strategies and management of malaria;
– Support the writing of the various monthly, quarterly and annual project reports under the supervision of the project manager.
– Establish effective collaboration as well as good relations with the support departments (Administration, Finance and Marketing); Effectively represent ACMS at external meetings with the Ministry of Health and other partners;
– Contribute to the creation and sharing of knowledge by synthesizing and documenting results, lessons learned, successes and best practices, strategies and approaches and developing relevant documents for their dissemination;
– Support the supervision of technical activities related to the project;
– Coordinate training activities related to the project;
– Coordinate project monitoring, supervision and evaluation activities;
– Analyze the factors affecting the achievement of results, recommend corrective actions and follow up on these recommendations;
– Evaluate, under the supervision of the project manager, the training needs of the team and put in place a professional development plan for the staff based on the staff performance report and the needs of the project – Place emphasis on gender
and diversity within the project team Perform any other task related to the activities assigned to you.

 

What are we looking for?
We are looking for one (1) Deputy Project Manager (M/F) who will embody the ACMS values ​​listed below:

The Basics:
• Required diploma: Master’s degree or international equivalent in public health, epidemiology or other relevant technical field.

• Have a minimum of eight (08) years of progressive experience in the management of malaria or other public health programs in Cameroon or the region, including proven technical experience in the design and implementation of activities of the fight against malaria in the African context.
• In lieu of the required diploma • Have more than (25) Twenty-five years of relevant professional experience in the field of implementing projects related to malaria.
• Proof of experience working with USAlD and knowledge of USAlD rules and regulations is an asset

• Mastery of French and knowledge of English;
• Good command of IT tools and software (Word, Power Point, Excel);
• Passion for public health;
• Have strong leadership skills and management of multitasking teams with various responsibilities;
• Have excellent diplomatic skills and proven ability to work effectively with government officials, partners, donors and stakeholders at senior levels;
• Have strong problem-solving skills, Have a good ability to plan and foresee potential and emerging obstacles
• Have the ability to establish strong public relations and have ease in communicating in a team
• Have a high level of autonomy at work, but with a deep team spirit;
• Have an ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision within a multicultural team •
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt, patience, ingenuity, resilience and flexibility.
