CONTEXT
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Vehicle driving:
– Executes the timetable established for him by the supervisor;
– Ensures that all vehicle documents are in order and checks the general condition of the vehicle, including accessories, wheels, braking system and the various levels;
– Is responsible for driving the vehicle under his responsibility;
– Is responsible for the safety of the vehicle and must be concerned with preserving its equipment, the environment and the safety of passengers;
– Monitors its presentation and behavior with the aim of preserving the brand image of the Organization;
– If necessary, the Driver-Mechanic may be called upon to work outside of service hours, during the weekend or on days not worked for the Program;

 

 

 

Vehicle maintenance and provision of assistance
– Ensures the maintenance and completion of vehicle logs under his responsibility and the verification of mileage for necessary periodic maintenance;
– Ensures the cleanliness of the vehicle under his responsibility as well as its proper functioning;
– Informs his supervisor of all anomalies observed and for repairs and purchases of spare parts deemed necessary, especially after missions;
– Systematically reports the condition of the vehicle;
– Carry out systematic technical inspections of the vehicle under his responsibility following the request of the Supervisor.

Application of IUCN administrative procedures
– Strictly respects all procedures and rules for the use of IUCN vehicles;
– Performs any other task requested by his supervisor which falls within the scope of his skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Holder of the CEP or FSLC;

– Holder of a valid driving license of categories B, C and D. All categories of license are desired;

– Solid experience driving 4 x 4 vehicles;

– Professional experience of at least 5 years in a similar position;

– Very good theoretical and practical knowledge of automobile mechanics;

– Practical knowledge of French and English, both oral and written.
