THE RECRUITMENT COMPLEX:

The Bank has reorganized itself and is in the process of setting up the Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Complex, the main objective of which is to build regional capacity and bring regions responsible for activities for the benefit of customers. Five regional development, integration and service delivery platforms, each headed by a managing director, have been created, notably for Southern Africa, North Africa, West Africa, Africa of East and Central Africa.

THE RECRUITING DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:

The various country offices report to one of the five (5) Regional Directorates for Development, Integration and Business Delivery for Africa. Each directorate oversees a set of country and liaison offices, as well as countries where the Bank does not have offices.

Reporting to the Regional Directorate for Central Africa, the African Development Bank Country Office in Cameroon was established to strengthen policy dialogue between the Bank, governments and other stakeholders, improve the performance of the projects and coordinate aid with other development partners.

THE POST :

The Temporary Driver will be called upon to provide reliable and safe driving services for the benefit of the Regional Directorate of Central Africa (RDGC) and to perform office courier duties

MAIN DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Director General, the incumbent will have to carry out the following tasks:

Contribute to the smooth running of activities, in particular those of members of the staff of the Office, persons on visiting missions and official delegations of the Office within the framework of their official functions, in Cameroon as required .
Drive the Managing Director and/or other staff or provide other driving services, as instructed, within the framework of Bank operations.
Ensure regular maintenance of Office vehicles.
Perform office courier duties.
Present a good image of the Bank through a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
Ensure the cleanliness of vehicles, keep the register of official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, lubrication, etc.
Ensure that the formalities provided for in the regulatory provisions are fulfilled in the event of an accident.
Provide support to the Bank’s protocol services.
Perform any other official duties entrusted to him.
SELECTION CRITERIA (Skills, knowledge and experience):

 




 

In particular the desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

Hold at least a Baccalaureate.
Hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving history.
Possess any additional documentation or certification to perform the function.
Have the right to work in Cameroon.
Justify a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a driver in an international / multinational institution or in a public or private sector organization.
Have experience and skills in minor vehicle repairs, and regular vehicle maintenance.
Have a working knowledge of the rules and regulations to be observed for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of automotive equipment.
Show initiative, be discreet and honest and enjoy a good reputation.
Demonstrate excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills;
Have excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in French or English. Working knowledge of the other language will be an added advantage.
Proof of nationality or proof of permanent resident status with work permit in the proposed country of employment;
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access). Knowledge of SAP is an asset;
