Position: Field Officer Health
Based in Maroua (far north region of Cameroon)
Type of contract CDD of 04 months (offer reserved exclusively for Cameroonian nationals) Taking office As soon as possible
JOB DESCRIPTION
Evaluates and monitors reproductive health issues and the expanded vaccination program within the sedentary and displaced population of health areas supported by the ICRC and proposes strategies to overcome the difficulties of access to health care. Health
Identifies needs in terms of training, information, equipment and medicines with regard to maternal health and proposes concrete actions to the health delegate
Plans activities (supervision, training, meetings, consultation, etc.) aimed at strengthening the technical capacities of health actors and to improve reproductive health indicators in structures supported by the ICRC
Under the supervision of the health delegate, provides technical expertise in the implementation of projects related to reproductive health:
Promote collaboration between CSI/HD and ATR (traditional birth attendants)
Set up management activities integrated charge (in collaboration with the psychosocial program, protection/ECOSEC, Ministry of Public Health) of VVS (victims of sexual violence) Conducts assessments and regular visits (as needed) in the field to ensure that the process is running smoothly activities and examine the health issues facing the population, Interprets at meetings and translates documents into local languages
Compiles in the ICRC’s “Medical Activity Database”
Insures, with supervision. preparation of quarterly and half-yearly reports such as RBM (Reeult Based Management), QHTR (Quarterly Health Technical Report), etc. ;
Encourages the implementation of hygiene and sanitation measures in IHCs and promotes
behavioral change on the application of universal precautions
Represents the ICRC appropriately during activities, at meetings and in the field, and avoids any behavior that could harm the image of the institution Assumes any other task assigned by his hierarchy.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum state-certified nursing diploma; Bachelor’s degree in health or research sciences
Minimum 03 years of professional experience in a similar position
Able to work independently and take initiatives
Good command of computer tools
Rigorous, organized and able to work within local communities Strong
sense of responsibility and great adaptability;
Good communication and negotiation skills
Good command of French, English and if possible local languages.
