JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities

Work in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines;
Assist in the implementation of support functions in accordance with the action plan;
Ensure the correct archiving of documents;
Encourage and be a source of proposals to promote the improvement of support functions;
Specific responsibilities

 




 

Close all advances daily and above all that all are closed at the end of the month;
Check and certify invoices before payments, that the prices and quantities correspond to the order and the quantities received;
Check that the accounting documents presented are original and with all the usual indications.
Check the cash base according to the NRC “check-list”;
Keep the cash books of your database up to date, record all accounting entries and prepare all vouchers daily;
Ensure that cash management complies with NRC procedures, and that signatures and the different authorization levels are respected and in compliance with the authorization table;
Keep the database’s bank books up to date, record all accounting entries and prepare all vouchers daily;
Reconciliation of the bank account of its base, if requested; particularly in the event that his supervisor is unable to do so;
Reconciliation of balance accounts (taxes, advances, supplier accounts, customer accounts;
Carry out a daily cash account and more particularly at the end of the month; etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Skills
General professional skills:

Hold a university diploma (Bac +2) in Finance / Accounting;
Have professional experience of 3 years in finance and 1 year minimum in a similar position
Experience in managing humanitarian projects in complex and unstable contexts;
In-depth knowledge of the social, cultural, economic and legal context;
Master the computer tool (Windows, Word, Excel);
Have good writing skills in French and basic knowledge of English;

Practical information related to the position

Contract duration: 12-month fixed-term contract based in Maroua with 30% field trips; renewable contract depending on availability of funding
Salary and benefits: Grade 4 step 1 of the NRC salary scale and 90% medical insurance
Desired start date: November 2023
