Main duties
Under the supervision of the Director of Prospective and Cooperation, the incumbent is mainly responsible for:
➢ to initiate and implement the activities of OAPI in the field of literary and artistic property;
➢ contribute to the harmonization of legislation on cultural heritage and copyright and related rights
➢ to propose and implement strategies for efficient collective management in the Member States;
➢ improve the collective management of rights in the member states;
➢ to promote the protection of literary and artistic property;
➢ to contribute to the creation of a database of literary and artistic works of the Member States;
➢ to participate in work and meetings in conjunction with other departments and departments;
➢ to carry out the reporting of the service.
Qualifications required :
➢ Have a postgraduate degree (Master, DEA, DESS) in Legal Sciences or any other diploma recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
➢ Have at least five (05) years of professional experience in the field in a design and management position;
➢ Have a good knowledge of the intellectual property system;
➢ Have knowledge of the Bangui Agreement and other treaties on intellectual property;
➢ Have knowledge of agreements and texts on literary and artistic property;
➢ Have knowledge of collective management;
➢ Have a good knowledge of office tools;
➢ Have a good organization in the work, be rigorous on the respect of deadlines and be able to work under pressure;
➢ Have an excellent knowledge of the French language; ➢ Having knowledge of the English language would be an asset.
Composition of the application file
All candidates for this position must compile a file containing the following documents:
➢ a duly completed application form (available on the website www.oapi.int ) ;
➢ an extract from the birth certificate or a certified true copy of the birth certificate or the supplementary judgment in lieu thereof;
➢ a detailed curriculum vitae;
➢ an extract from the criminal record dating from less than three months;
➢ a certified true copy of diplomas, titles, qualification certificates, work certificates;
➢ a regularly established certificate of public or private jobs previously held and indicating their duration;
➢ a certificate of medical examination, dating from less than three months, attesting that the candidate fulfills the conditions of physical and mental aptitude.
Remuneration
The position is classified in category C3 of the salary scale in force at OAPI. Recruitment is done at the 1st level. The person concerned will benefit from the advantages and allowances under the conditions provided for by the texts in force.
Elements of the commitment file
The successful candidate must, prior to taking up duty:
➢ present the originals of their diplomas, titles and civil status documents;
➢ provide a sworn statement of free employment if he is not a civil servant or an act of secondment if he is a civil servant.
