RECRUITMENT NOTICE
Information and Communication Technology Manager based in YAOUNDE – CAMEROON
The Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) of the European Commission practices a policy of equal opportunities in employment. It finances humanitarian actions to help victims of natural disasters and conflicts.
For humanitarian aid, the European Commission acts through more than 200 operational partners including specialized United Nations agencies, the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This assistance is made available to victims impartially, that is to say regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, nationality or political affiliation.
The ECHO Office in Yaoundé – Cameroon is seeking an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager under a local 1-year renewable fixed-term contract with the prospect of a permanent contract based on performance.
This position is open to nationals and residents of the Republic of Cameroon in possession of a valid work permit and residence permit.

Training:
- A relevant first-level university degree or equivalent professional experience (Bac + 5)
- Specific studies in the humanitarian field will be considered an asset
Knowledge and Experience:
- 5 years of relevant experience at national or international level in technical fields related to ICT;
- Good knowledge of ICT equipment and systems;
- High level of competence in installation, configuration, maintenance, support and optimization of computer hardware, network and software;
- Ability to regularly carry out missions to local offices in the region (Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria) to ensure the installation of new devices, the proper functioning of existing ICT equipment and the compliance of the local IT maintenance provider by relation to DG ECHO’s ICT policies and procedures
- Ability and motivation to work in a multicultural environment.
LANGUAGES :
- Excellent knowledge of French (spoken, read and written)
- Excellent knowledge of English (spoken, read and written)

DG ECHO offers a position in an international environment. The function group is level II with gross base salary of 1,371,046 XAF corresponding to step 4 equivalent to 5 years of relevant professional experience. This step will vary depending on the exact number of years of relevant experience validated by a work certificate. In addition to the basic salary, the employee will receive a transportation allowance, housing allowance, a monthly disability/retirement allowance, a 13th month and will benefit from medical coverage.
