The internship program in the Cameroon office has the primary objective of creating a pipeline of available human resources with experience of UNICEF and imbued with its culture and working conditions. In this, national internships will be prioritized with a focus on finding female interns to continuously contribute to improving the gender balance of the office.
Internships at UNICEF aim to:
Provide a framework whereby eligible undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students from various academic backgrounds are assigned to the UNICEF Cameroon office to enhance their educational experience through practical assignments;
Expose the intern to the work of UNICEF;
Provide the Cameroon office with the assistance of qualified students, specialized in various professional fields.

How can you make a difference for UNICEF Cameroon?
Under the supervision of the specialist in charge of training and learning, the Intern will support the Coordination and particularly the Adolescent Participation Program (ADAP) in the operationalization of the Protective Learning Environment (PLE) strategy.
Support the section in setting up advisory groups (AGAB) in the regions;
Support the Section in the compilation of reports and data including focus groups with adolescents and interviews with partners;
Support the Section in the networking of advisory groups across the areas of implementation, including the organization of national meetings;
Contribute to the management of data from the process and the documentation of good practices;
Support any other activity related to the operationalization of the PLE strategy
Support any other activity required in terms of program coordination.
To qualify as a champion for each child, you must:
Be enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate program or have obtained a degree within the last two years in social sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology), communication, monitoring and evaluation, or any other related field;
Be at least 18 years old;
Do not have close relatives (father, mother, brother, sister) working in a UNICEF office
Master French and have a good knowledge of English;
Have excellent academic performance, demonstrated by recent university or institutional documents;
Having previous professional experience is a considerable asset;
Knowledge of data management software: spreadsheet (advanced Excel functions, etc.), databases (Access, Oracle, etc.).
Have knowledge of office software (Word and PowerPoint).
Never have completed an internship at the Cameroon office;
Meet UNICEF child safeguarding standards.
