The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatrics
HIV and AIDS, working in 19 countries and at over 5,500 sites around the world to prevent the
transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly
successful work of the Foundation and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in

the Foundation’s global mission is to implement HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs;
further advance innovative research; and to execute strategic and targeted global advocacy activities

EGPAF works in partnership with the Ministry of Health NACC and the Regional and District
Health Teams to support HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment and health systems strengthening
services. EGPAF is mainly funded by PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

With funding from CDC/PEPFAR Cameroon for the Reach95 project, EGPAF is supporting the
Ministry of Public Health and the Government of Cameroon to scale up
HIV testing services to ensure that 95% of people living with HIV know their status , 95% of
them are initiated on antiretrovirals and 95% of those on antiretrovirals are suppressed by
viral. EGPAF also benefits from support from other donors such as Unitaid to
implement innovative approaches to catalyze pediatric TB services.
Summary of the consultancy:
It is a question of updating a database of the lexicon of semiology, diagnoses and
therapeutics as well as laboratory examinations and other possible medical explorations adapted
to a context of tropical diseases.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Project Director, he/she is responsible for:
Day 1-3:
• Complete and systematize an exhaustive list as much as possible of signs and
symptoms by systems
• Develop sub-entities of syndromes frequently found in a context of
tropical diseases.
• Provide an exhaustive list of possible diagnoses according to the symptoms and
possible configurations.
• Provide a list of biological or imaging analyzes necessary for the effective diagnosis
of the pathologies identified and proposed.
• Contribute to drawing up a list of drugs (INN) indicated for the management
of the pathologies identified.
Day 4-5:
• Participate in review and validation sessions with the medical design team.
• Produce the final version of the document to be shared.
Professional qualifications and skills:
• Degree in medicine with a specialization in internal medicine.
• Experience working with an electronic medical documentation system.
• Experience in medical consultancy and audit, review of medical files is
highly appreciated.
• Fluency in French and English is recommended.
• Strong work ethic and great ability to meet deadlines.
