For one of our program offices based in Cameroon, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Junior Accountant to contribute to the objective of its Jengi TRIDOM program.

Field of action: Landscape TRIDOM
Duration : 2 years (renewable)
Mission of the Department:
In the spirit of excellence, integrity and dedication, the Department of Finance is committed to providing timely, accurate, clear and complete information, and to supporting the overall objectives of the Department of Conservation to be achieved by the Office of the Cameroon Country Program (CCPO).
Main duties :
The employee is responsible for providing financial and operational support to the program by facilitating requests for funds in a timely manner. Primarily performs general accounting functions, encoding of Oracle Light AP transactions, analysis of staff and partner advances, payments to staff and third parties, maintenance of subsidiary accounting records, filling of supporting documents and financial reporting and the provision of assistance on other accounting and administrative functions.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Performs mainly general accounting functions, encoding transactions
Oracle Light AP, analyzing advances from staff and partners;
- Process payments to staff and third parties in accordance with WWF procedures;
- Keeping the accounting records of the subsidiaries up to date; Appropriate control of various financial records such as commitments and expenditures against budgeted amounts; initiate actions related to the following: general financial information, travel payments, expense reports and procurement transactions;
- Prepare financial reports and provide assistance with other accounting and administrative functions;
- Participates in the program budgeting process and ensures that operational plans are consistent with approved budgets;
- Review program work plans/budget and keep records of budget and budget changes on file;
- Provide support to the Program Administrator to ensure that the appropriate financial control processes, procedures and systems are in place and adhered to within the TRIDOM office;
- Check vendor claims for accuracy and compliance with WWF financial rules and regulations;
- Perform claims checks against documentation to ensure purchases/services are properly authorized and goods have been received or services rendered, and ensure timely recording and processing of vendor invoices in Oracle;
- Maintain program asset register and reconcile register with GL on a monthly basis.
- Provide support to Program Administrator to ensure that appropriate financial control processes, procedures and systems are in place and adhered to in the TRIDOM office. Follow audit actions related to finances for TRIDOM.
- Assist the Program Administrator in identifying and mitigating risks within the TRIDOM office.
- Monitoring of generator operating hours as well as fuel consumption, etc.);
- Monitor consumption of fuel, lubricants and spare parts according to WWF standards and provide vehicle statistics on a monthly basis.

What do you need :
Qualifications required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field and/or professional accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) would be an asset;
- At least three (3) years of progressive professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in an international organization (NGO or company).
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, in particular an advanced level of MS Excel is required; database software, web-based system and experience using an ERP system is highly desirable.
