CONTEXT

CARE is one of the largest humanitarian aid networks in the world, apolitical and non-denominational that supports and manages emergency and development projects by involving communities, collaborating with local partners. Our objective is to fight against all forms of poverty, to defend access to fundamental rights, to combat social injustice. Supporting women’s empowerment and acting for their rights are essential actions in the fight against poverty, which is why women are at the heart of our programs. CARE is present in 100 countries and through the implementation of nearly 1000 emergency and development projects.

 




 

In Cameroon since 1978, CARE develops and implements 3 action programs (broken down into several projects) in response to humanitarian crises and support for sustainable development. They are part of the phases of emergency, resilience of women and young people, access to sexual health and reproduction of the populations most at risk, including PLHIV.

As part of the implementation of the Cross-Border Program for the Promotion of Durable Solutions to Displacement Situations in Cameroon and the Central African Republic (CAR) – SOLID , CARE is looking for:

Position  : one (01) Logistics and Security Assistant

Division:  Logistics

 

 

Contract form:  CDD of one (01) year with possibility of renewal (Trial period included)

Working time: 40 hours per week (Full time)

Reporting line:  Project Manager  

Job location:  Batouri

 

 

Assignment :

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Batouri Base Logistics and Security Assistant’s main responsibility is to support security management and supervise the logistics of the Batouri base. Function : 

Functions:

Function 1  : Security

Liability 1.1. security management

  • Ensure the implementation and updating of existing security and contingency plans, procedures and standards,
  • Ensure strict application of Care’s security policies

 

Liability 1.2.   Security monitoring, context analysis of risks and threats

  • Collect and analyze information relevant to the analysis of the security context in Care’s operational areas and report to the field coordinator for decision-making
  • Respond to requests from programs for security analysis as part of the implementation of their activities;

 

Liability 1.3. Reportage, security information 

  • Write daily, weekly and monthly security reports on the evolution of the security situation. Communicate any movement restrictions in the intervention areas;

Function 2  : Sustainable fleet management and equipment

Liability 2.1. Manage the car and motorcycle fleet (vehicle), from the base

  • He performs stock entries and exits in accordance with the rules of the organization
  • Monitor the fleet (repair, maintenance, consumption);
  • Implementation of the vehicle use schedule;
  • Ensure the proper use of vehicles;
  • Ensures that each vehicle has returned to the base at the defined security hours, when the vehicle is scheduled to return to the base.
  • In collaboration with the log assistant, ensures the updating of log books, equipment inventory.

Liability 2.2. Generating set management

  • Ensures that the generating set, according to its power, does not exceed the authorized hours of operation per day;

 Responsibility 2.3 Management of durable equipment

  • Identified, inventoried, followed the assignments of all the durable equipment of the Base:
  • Is responsible for all the durable equipment of the base,
  • Must ensure that all durable equipment is included in the equipment inventory
  • Ensures monthly updates of the state of the park
  • When a breakdown affects equipment, before taking any action, he must notify his line manager and the CLS, and must check whether the equipment is still under warranty. All breakdowns must be mentioned in the identification sheet, with an explanatory note.

Function 3  : Management and monitoring of the ITC fleet

  • Ensures the proper functioning and processing of computer equipment.
  • Escalate all anomalies via a written report to the Logistics Manager of the mission.
  • Ensures that each piece of equipment is properly protected, either by a source stabilizer or by an inverter;

 

Function 4  :  Report

  • Write the monthly log report
  • Write the vehicle cost report,
  • Report incidents to the base manager and national logistics security coordinator,
  • Compile inventory reports
  • Update the equipment list,

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Qualifications:

 

  • Significant professional experience of at least two years in a similar function with an INGO.
  • A BAC +2 diploma in logistics or a related field
