RECRUITMENT NOTICE
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) or The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of churches of the Lutheran faith comprising 148 member churches in 99 countries around the world, with 77 million Christians. World Service represents the humanitarian and development service of the Federation whose actions are defined around three key areas: Livelihoods, Quality Services and Protection & Social Cohesion, which include transversal axes such as Climate Justice, Gender Justice and Advocacy for respect for Fundamental Rights.
The Lutheran World Federation has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It has been present in Cameroon since 2014 and operates mainly in the areas of livelihoods (Livelihoods), Education, Peace and social cohesion, Environment / Energy and, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH); in four regions namely: the East, Adamaoua, the North and the Far North with a representative office in Yaoundé in the Center region.
As part of the new “Nature-Based Solutions – NBS” project with technical support from “Canadian Lutheran World Relief” (CLWR) and financial support from “Global Affairs Canada” (GAC), the FLM is recruiting:
Title of the position: One (01) LOGISTICS OFFICER
Reporting to: Logistics and Security Coordinator
Place of assignment: Kousseri
Duration of contract: One year renewable depending on performance with 3 months of trial period.
Primary objective of the position:
The Logistics Officer supports the coordination of the area in the overall management of logistics including procurement and contracting, inventory management, asset and property management, management of fleet of rolling vehicles (cars and motorcycles), safe transport of personnel and goods, supervision of the garage and fuel stock. He/She ensures that the operations of these different logistics sectors comply with both LWF procedures and all donor requirements.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of annual and monthly logistics and procurement planning based on planned project activities
Contribute to the project procurement plan in accordance with LWF and donor requirements
Contribute effectively in the development of tender documents
Ensure that all equipment and furniture are in good condition and organize repairs and maintenance as necessary
Support the program in carrying out estimates and quotes for better results planning
Support the program to make purchases in accordance with appropriate procedures and with the approval of the project coordination
Ensure that the appropriate documents are completed for customs for international procurement
Ensure that the registration of all vehicles (cars and motorcycles) as well as their insurance are always up to date
Anticipate for the timely completion of diagnosis and reports on the condition of vehicles including the main problems to be resolved immediately
Ensure that all the vehicles (cars and motorcycles) are well maintained, their logbook is well completed and all necessary maintenance work is done well and takes place in a timely manner
Control and supervise the work of the drivers of the vehicles (cars and motorcycles) in particular their manner of driving to ensure correct use of vehicles
Ensure that there is always sufficient fuel available in the office stock for efficient use and proper planning of different trips
Establish a system effective control and monitoring of stock in warehouses, ensuring stock security and ensuring that an electronic inventory is well maintained and up to date
Ensuring that the office always has an up-to-date inventory of goods and properties which very clearly presents all the essential data (type of good, its origin, its date of acquisition, the project, the cost, the office and a code)
Ensure the secure and timely transport of articles and inputs to project sites
Ensure safe movement of office staff to project sites on a daily basis
Ensure that appropriate means of communication are available to staff in the office and on sites
Stay in constant contact with the logistics cluster of the region and represent the LWF in logistics meetings in the region
Actively contribute to the analysis and evolution of the political, security, social and cultural environment prevailing in the communities
Carry out any other tasks that may be assigned, within the limits of his responsibilities and overall support to the program, by his supervisor and the coordination of the LWF program.
The organization and planning of purchasing and examination commissions for the different offers in the project area.

Maintain and safeguard all materials and equipment made available to carry out routine tasks
Carry out his work with care, competence, diligence and within the allotted deadlines according to the stipulations of his contract and his job profile.
Observe safety, protection and accountability standards during the performance of their work;
Demonstrate loyalty to the LWF and act with courtesy and respect towards all members of the organization, beneficiaries as well as anyone connected with the LWF
Enjoy an exemplary reputation and have never been involved directly or indirectly in situations or confirmed suspicions of fraud and corruption
Be flexible with working hours, particularly during periods of major emergencies
Sign and respect the Code of Conduct, the PEAS policy and the Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy of the FLM as well as all other Policies in force at the FLM.
Qualifications Required
1. Diploma in logistics, supply chain management or related fields, i.e. Bac + 4 years at least.
2. Experience within an International organization or United Nations system organization.
3. Be able to travel within Cameroonian territory on a regular basis
4. Ability to work with little or no supervision, under pressure and within a multicultural team
5. Very good knowledge of French and average knowledge of English , mastery of the Logone and Chari area will be an asset.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills
7. Flexibility to effectively deal with varied situations, problems and challenges
8. Valid driver’s license and computer knowledge with strong MS-Excel skills.
9. Experience required: At least 3 years of proven professional experience in a similar position.
Recruitment procedure
• Recruitment will be carried out according to the following procedure:
– Examination of files
– Pre-selection of candidates
– Written test/and or oral interview (Only pre-selected candidates).
• The application files are composed of:
– A Curriculum vitae containing three (03) reference people mentioning their emails and telephone contacts,
– A letter of application addressed to the FLM Country Representative in Cameroon,
– A cover letter addressed to the FLM Country Representative in Cameroon,
– An extract from the criminal record, bulletin number 3, less than three months old,
– Copies of diplomas/work certificates.
How to apply
• Application files must mention the position in subject, only sent by email to the address: procurement.cameroon@lutheranworld.org
• The completed files will be scanned in PDF version and transferred into a single file. The files of candidates whose files do not comply with this instruction and whose position is not mentioned in the subject line of the email will not be processed.
• Pre-selected candidates will present the originals constituting their application file to the recruitment panel before taking the tests.
• The definitively selected candidate will present the originals of their diplomas before signing the employment contract.
NB:
• Female applications are strongly encouraged.
• Only candidates pre-selected on file will be called for a test and/or an interview at the FLM premises.
• Any incomplete file will not be taken into account
