Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Country Coordinator, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the project strategies as defined in the project document.
Specific responsibilities and tasks
Responsibility no. 1: General
Ensure the coordination of the BAKA project in the Abong-Mbang Health District, to develop the strategies/activities planned in the project document and approved budgets.
Ensure compliance with the strategies and commitments of the BAKA project vis-à-vis partners, donors and the Government Cameroonian,
Ensure that all project activities are delivered on time, within scope and budget.Identify
and resolve potential issues that may arise during the course of the project.
Develop with government sectors the intervention strategy and possible changes depending on the evolution of the project;
Participate in the development of the budget and project documents with the National Coordination team;
Establish effective communication with project stakeholders, including the project team, beneficiaries, suppliers and Country Office.
Ensure responsibility for good financial management and project resources.
Provide regular reporting of all project activities in accordance with the schedule of the BAKA project document.
Apply and enforce the various FAIRMED policies (Internal Regulations, Procedures Manual, PSEAH, Code of Conduct, Anti-corruption policy) on the project in close collaboration with the National Coordination team;
1. Responsibility #2 — Project coordination and management.
Coordinate and manage the BAKA project portfolio according to the approved schedule and resources;
Implementation of compliance and monitoring of project strategies as defined in the project document validated by the program team
Ensure the coordination of all activities while ensuring the efficiency and quality of the work of each member of the team ‘team ;
Monitor and supervise activities according to approved work plans and timelines;
Assist in the development of the operational plan and the development of the project budget •
Supervise the collection and analysis of data from the various health structures supported and the regular transmission of project data and activity reports carried out to the representation national;
Support national representation in the day-to-day management of human resources and the organization of strategic quarterly supervision and financial management and project accounting;

 




 

Communicate standards, build capacity and support field teams (project staff, partners and beneficiaries) in project planning, monitoring and evaluation processes in accordance with FAIRMED project cycle management tools and procedures and the contractual specifications with partners to guarantee the quality of results;
Ensure effective communication between the project and target populations.
Participate in the development of monthly and annual work action plans; Support supervision at the level of health facilities in the project area, Support periodic evaluation of the project;
Support the various training sessions for project beneficiaries;
Develop the various periodic reports specific to the position according to the FAIRMED context;
Contribute to the capitalization of project experiences
Participate in the development of study protocols and projects;
Ensure the implementation of the decisions of the steering committee;
Carry out communication and advocacy actions necessary for the mobilization of additional resources and ensure the visibility of the actions carried out by the beneficiaries and the Foundation so that the project sustainability approach is effective
Support/participate in any other activity to be entrusted to it by the FAIRMED Cameroon Country Coordinator;
Responsibility no. 3: Representation
Represent FAIRMED to administrative authorities and local partners;
Participate in meetings of partners and local and regional health authorities and those organized by partners in the region and to which FAIRMED is invited;
Support the main government sectors at the regional level and the Delegations at the departmental level to ensure the quality implementation of FAIRMED project interventions;
Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the BAKA project at the regional and departmental level, including donors, government actors, local traditional leaders, beneficiary populations and their representatives, etc.
Conduct a constant advocacy with partners involved in the project for better transfer of skills and buy-in from project stakeholders;
Participate in meetings convened by partners and authorities (coordination at the level of the Health District, DRSP East, administrative authorities
Responsibility no. 4: Logistics
• Ensure compliance with the financing and logistics policies of FAIRMED and donors, including all aspects of purchasing and asset management;
• Plan and monitor the movements and travel of staff in the project intervention area;
Responsibility No. 5: Reporting
Write and submit the half-yearly and monthly report of financial and logistical activities to national coordination and at headquarters;
Provide monthly activity reports (medical, logistics and financial administration in the area of ​​intervention);
Organize basic situation analysis surveys for the development of the project.

POSITION PROFILE.
Qualification (essential)
Holder of a Master’s level university degree in Public Health, Project Management, International Development, social science or any other equivalent diploma in similar fields.
Experience (essential)
Minimum 4 years in a similar position in an international NGO
Proven experience with vulnerable indigenous populations (would be an asset)
Technical knowledge and skills (essential)
Team management and coordination
Project portfolio management, mastery of donor procedures
Coordination or management of multi-year projects, knowledge of project cycle management Knowledge of project
drafting, good knowledge of neglected tropical diseases
È Solid organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Proven ability to respond proactively to unstructured environments and manage difficult situations and relationships with creativity and diplomacy.
Good knowledge of Microsoft suite, good command of the French language Ability to travel within the country Advocacy
