ECOBANK CAMEROUN SA is recruiting for the needs of its services a Marketing & Communication Manager

able to practice throughout the national territory. This position is based in Douala.

CONTEXT
The position is part of a search for a strong positioning of the Ecobank brand on the market.

 




 

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB:
The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead the communications, public relations and marketing program of the subsidiary, in accordance with Ecobank’s communications and marketing policies, but also following the policy and objectives of the subsidiary.

In doing this, it relies on market and customer behavior research and analysis methods to ensure that its action places the customer at the heart of its strategy.

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial and financial performance
• Develop, defend and manage the subsidiary’s marketing and communication budget within specific deadlines after approval by Management;
• Demonstrate rigor in the execution of the marketing plan to achieve effective management of marketing costs.

Marketing and communications
• Implement the subsidiary’s marketing and communication strategy in line with the Group’s institutional marketing and communication strategy and in support of the daily operations of Ecobank Cameroon;
• Develop effective marketing and awareness plans for high impact and visibility with the help of marketing agencies and the Group;
• Ensure brand visibility at all points of sale;
• Comply with Ecobank’s graphic charter on all marketing communication media;
• Organize daily media monitoring and analysis of all media coverage of the subsidiary;
• Organize Ecobank Cameroon’s participation in external events such as forums, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, etc.;
• Implement internal communications in collaboration with all other departments;
• Inform management of competitors’ practices and on any subject related to the economy, social and political issues of the country;
• Ensure successful event management and timely delivery of event coverage via approved media.
• Develop and implement the marketing and digital communication strategy

 

 

Media relations and corporate responsibility programs
• Develop and organize relevant local Corporate Social Responsibility programs in line with the Group’s Strategy;
• Ensure 100% accuracy of information in all media reporting;
• Building effective relationships with the media;
• Prepare or oversee the preparation of key communications products, including media briefings and press releases.

REPORTING TO:

Managing Director

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role with a demonstrated track record of effective strategic planning, exceptional organizational skills and an ability to work independently;
• Evidence of diverse experience in all facets of communications, marketing and/or public relations, with a proven ability to: conceptualize, design and implement major campaigns, strategies or programs;
• Strong media relations and broad knowledge of digital channel marketing and communications;
• Proven experience in a multinational or in a marketing agency will be an added advantage;
• Experience in strategy and digital marketing
• Market analysis and customer data
• Experience in brand and distribution network management would be a plus
• Master’s degree in marketing and communication
• Good level of English;

Skills, abilities and personal qualities
• Good knowledge of banking products;
• Thorough understanding of marketing principles;
• High levels of initiative, leadership and direction;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Excellent planning and organizational skills;
• Proven written and verbal communication skills;
• Good budget analysis skills.
