RECRUITMENT NOTICE OF A PHARMACY MANAGER M/F

DEMTOU as part of its partnership with the Humanitarian NGO ALIMA, is looking for a position as a PHARMACY MANAGER for their joint project in the SOUTH WEST region.




DEMTOU PRESENTATION

 HUMANITARIAN is a non-discriminatory, non-profit humanitarian organization whose objective is to provide assistance to people affected by crises and to facilitate sustainable community development.

Its mission is to fight for a better humanity through seven sectors of activity: Health, Nutrition, Early recovery, Social cohesion, Food security, WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), and Protection. The NGO is currently present in five regions of Cameroon and has its headquarters in Yaoundé, two operational offices (Kousseri and Buea), two liaison offices (Maroua and Douala) and two joint offices in the North West and West Cameroon.

Main Mission; 

Define, implement, coordinate and supervise all pharmacy-related activities in the project area, in accordance with ALIMA standards and protocols and the directives of the mission pharmacist and the medical coordinator. Manage the personnel involved in the operation of the pharmacy in order to ensure adequate management of drugs and medical devices and the supply of the project’s central pharmacy (or medical warehouse) and the project’s satellite units (CNAS, CSI ).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with ordering and supply procedures for drugs and medical devices in order to monitor stocks for all pharmacies, avoid cases of expiry, over-stocking, stock-outs and ensure the proper functioning and effectiveness of these procedures
  • Collect and prepare accurate data (inventory, consumption, ) to be used to prepare medical orders
  • Prepare the medical order in collaboration with the Medical
  • Ensure the integrity of the cold chain in cooperation with the logistics team
  • Control the proper management of stocks in all pharmacies in the project area (Hospitals, CNAS, CSI) in order to guarantee adequate and up-to- date control of stock levels and, in general, the control of drugs and medical devices
  • Ensure proper recording of stock and inventory files
  • Follow the flow of drugs and medical devices (entry, exit, destination), ensure their quality, assess their condition and report any problems
  • Ensure that pharmacy staff(if available) are aware of the color and normal appearance of all medications in order to detect any possible deterioration
  • Ensure transport to the coordination for the correct destruction of expired drugs

 



 

  • Ensure, in cooperatton with the project logistics manager, good storage conditions (e.g. humidity, temperature, exposure to light, cleanliness, pest and rodent control, etc.) and the classification and organization of medicines and medical equipment in accordance with the ALIMA protocols in force
  • Ensure compliance with all hygiene and safety procedures in project pharmacies: cleaning, pest and rodent control,
  • Supervise the operation and organization of the project’s central pharmacy and satellite units and put in place the protocols and procedures to be followed by all staff to ensure the quality of service provided to the population and the correct handling products and equipment in terms of hygiene and safety
  • Report on the consumption of drugs and medical devices distributed according to the protocols and on unusual flows
  • Perform all reporting duties associated with his/her scope and responsibilities, ensuring consistency and accuracy to facilitate decision- making by superiors
  • Ensure that all pharmacy staff use required clothing and equipment according to protocols, g. white coat, gloves, etc.
  • Participate in monthly reporting as directed (Sitreps, Statistical Medical Reports, )
  • Actively participate in the establishment of the annual plan and budgets and their updates
  • Plan and supervise, in close cooperation with the human resources department, the procedures (recruitment. training/initial training, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) concerning the personnel under his responsibility in order to define the knowledge required and to ensure
  • Ensure compliance with the policy on abuse of power, gender-based and sexual violence and all the legal documents of the organization (RI, statute, Code of conduct, )

 

A certain flexibility and availability is required to adapt to daily realities. The ability to motivate the team, make decisions and trust others is essential

 

EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

Training:

  • Experienced Pharmacy Manager

 

Experiences:

  • Experience of at least 2 years in a similar position
  • Experience in a humanitarian medical response setting
  • Experience in team management and coaching
