Cameroon Mining Company is a leading iron ore producer in Africa. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Payroll Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for processing and verifying payroll data, ensuring compliance with tax and labor laws, and providing payroll support to our employees and managers
- Collect and verify timekeeping records and payroll information from various sources
- Calculate wages, deductions, taxes, and other payroll liabilities
- Prepare and issue Paychecks and direct deposits
- Maintain and update payroll records and files
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve payroll issues
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with payroll policies and regulations
- Respond to payroll inquiries and requests from employees and managers
- Assist with payroll audits and year-end activities
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a payroll technician, preferably in the mining industry
- Experience working in a mine and handling mining equipment
- Knowledge of payroll systems, software, and tools, such as SAP, ADP, and QuickBooks
- Knowledge of payroll tax and labor laws, such as OSHA, MSHA, and IRS
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
