Job Summary:
Embassy programs (consular, development, foreign policy and diplomacy, common services, etc. Common duties LE-A2:
Office duties such as making photocopies, receiving telephone calls and visitors, and preparing documents such as reports , letters and charts, as well as making travel and accommodation arrangements, scheduling meetings and appointments, and assisting with pre-arrangements for visits and hospitality events. Tracking the budget and making recommendations
on travel arrangements
Research and compile information, verify the completeness of submitted documents, enter data into computer systems and maintain records, files, lists and databases.
Maintain a network of operational contacts with local and foreign governments, service providers, suppliers, organizations and agencies, and local industries to gather information to ensure mission compliance with procedures and regulations ,
Prepares standard documents and forms on different systems for different recipients.
Research and compile data, verify completeness and accuracy of documents and information, identify and resolve discrepancies.
Provides advice and information to internal and external customers based on these standard rules, practices and procedures, or their adaptation, regarding various types of requests.
Respond to routine requests for documentation or information related to area(s) of responsibility from internal or external clients, and direct them to the appropriate party, Coordinate meetings, events, schedules or
travel .
Area of Selection:
This position is open to candidates who have the right to reside and work in Cameroon, who meet the essential qualifications, the conditions of employment and whose applications are received by the closing date.
This is an advance competition, it will be used to fill term and indeterminate vacancies in any unit of the Embassy, up to 24 months after its conclusion.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates will be selected initially on essential qualifications relating to education, language profile and experience*. Applicants must clearly demonstrate when applying for the position how they meet each of the essential qualifications.
* The linguistic profile will be evaluated during the process.
Education:
Applicants must meet the education requirement and they will be required to provide proof of completion of education.
Post-secondary diploma from a recognized university or institution.
Linguistic profile:
Fluency in French or English (oral, reading comprehension and writing).
Experience:
At least 12 months of experience, within the past three (3) years, in an office environment in an administrative support role.
Experience providing direct service to clients in person, electronically and over the phone.
Experience in administrative tasks
RATED REQUIREMENTS
The rated requirements are part of the essential qualifications and relate to knowledge, abilities and skills. Methods of assessing rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, written exam, oral interview (pre-recorded online/live or in-person), role play, practice test, presentation and/or test psychometric.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of office administrative procedures;
Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet browsers.

Effective interactive communication (oral, written comprehension and writing);

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the asset qualifications. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications, if applicable.
Knowledge of the policies and procedures of one or more of the following programs: Migration, Consular, Development, Foreign Policy and Diplomacy, Common Services.
Proficiency in Canada’s second official language (oral, written comprehension and writing), for positions intended for the public.
Experience working in a diplomatic mission or international organization.
Operational requirements:
Willingness and ability to work overtime may be an operational requirement as the work schedule is subject to change;
Be prepared to work in a high pressure environment.
Adhere to established working hours and demonstrate flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
Foreign Policy and Diplomacy: Willingness and ability to travel for work domestically or internationally.
Conditions of Employment:
Conditions of employment must be fulfilled or complied with prior to an appointment to a particular position and must be maintained for the duration of the contract by the position holder.
– Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid work permit covering the entire period of employment.
– Security Check: Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal background check and a Government of Canada credit check covering the entire period of employment.
– Other conditions of employment:
It will be necessary to provide copies of academic qualifications during the stage of the process corresponding to the interview.
The successful candidate must hold or obtain the necessary documents to enable him to work in Cameroon. This document will be requested.
