CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF AN ASSISTANT PROJECT COORDINATOR THE WOMEN’S HEALTH PROJECT (WHP) AT ACMS
Who are we ?
The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS), member of the PSI network is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve in a sustainable and measurable way the social situation of the Cameroonian population and to promote health and family prosperity. Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its partners in the public and private sectors to offer high quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For more than twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the people of Cameroon with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria, and HIV prevention among others.

The Women’s Health Project (WHP) is one of the reproductive health projects implemented by ACMS aimed at reducing maternal mortality associated with unsafe abortions in Cameroon.
As part of WHP 6; 2022-2023, the Women’s Health Project’s strategy is to:
Build public sector capacity/support service integration and increase ownership,
Ensure sustainability of sexual and reproductive health services in the private sector,
Identify approaches to bring care closer to women, and
Changing norms/conversations around safe abortion.
Your Contribution:
Help coordinate and implement communication, marketing and distribution activities within the project.
Assist in the implementation of quality assurance activities within the project.
Organize and oversee project-related trainings (quality assurance, communication and marketing) for project staff, field staff and collaborators. Participate just as actively in post-training follow-up activities.
Participate in the monitoring of weekly, monthly, quarterly and semi-annual project implementation activities in relation to the project’s annual action plan and more particularly in the coastal region.
Participate in the drafting of the various monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports under the responsibility of his supervisor.
Closely supervise project consultants (quality assurance consultants) and their activities in project implementation regions and ensure delivery of FP/CAP/MA services in accordance with Population Services International (PSI) standards and procedures and the Ministry of Health.
Assist in the administrative and financial management of the project, thus guaranteeing the daily monitoring of project expenses and advances, ensuring compliance with ACMS protocols and deadlines, particularly in the littoral region.
Effectively represent the project in meetings with partners in the littoral region.
Contribute to knowledge sharing by synthesizing and documenting results, lessons learned and best practices in the coastal region.
In collaboration with the M/E team, ensure that accurate and correct data is collected and entered into the system for the project.
Help ensure the availability of field staff required for the implementation of the project
Assist in monitoring the security situation in the project intervention areas and ensure that the project team respects the security rules of the platform .
Perform any other task related to the activities that will be entrusted to you.

The Basics:
Have at least a Master’s degree in the health field, in project management, or in other related fields;
Have at least five (05) years of relevant experience as a Project Assistant;
In substitution of the required diploma: Have fifteen (15) years of relevant professional experience in the field of reproductive health or the implementation of public health projects;
Have demonstrated ability in implementing reproductive health or public health projects within the past two years;
What would interest us?
Familiarity with social marketing and/or NGOs;
Fluent in French and/or English and have a sufficient command of the other language;
Good command of computers and software (Word, Power Point, Excel)
Passion for public health;
Management knowledge;
Excellent capacity for synthesis, precision and conciseness;
Excellent diplomatic skills and proven ability to work effectively with government officials, partners, donors and stakeholders at key levels;
Previous work experience in Cameroon is highly desirable;
Be available for regular field work.

In collaboration with the M/E staff participate in ensuring that accurate and correct data is collected and entered into the system for the project
Assist in ensuring the availability of the required fields staff for project implementation
Assist in monitoring the security situation in the project areas and ensure that the project team complies with platform’s security rules.
Carry out any other tasks related to activities you will be entrusted with.
