Health & Benefits Senior Actuarial Researcher

 

 

through innovative approaches. Our activities encompass the design of creative plans, the evaluation and management of contracts, the study of pricing and financing strategies, data analysis and governance. We mainly provide specialized consulting services in all these fields and expertise related to personal insurance.
As a Senior H&B Analytics Consultant / Senior H&B Research Manager, you will join our H&B Research Managers division as part of the studies and analyzes of contracts with a view to providing innovative solutions to our customers and prospects. You will report to the Regional H&B Manager.

 



Role and responsibilities

• Client deliverables:
o Understand a client’s or prospect’s activities, coverage requirements and identify key issues;
o Carry out statistical analyzes of clients’ H&B claims in consultation with Medical Advisors and Customer Service Managers;
o Manage relationships and negotiate placement with insurer and reinsurer partners; Determine the solutions,
o Highlighting WTW’s Intellectual Capital in client analyses/projects (Inflation, Benefits Trends, Guarantees and Claims Benchmark, etc.);
o Participate in customer meetings, if necessary, support the sales teams for the restitution of statistics to customers and establish recommendations, advice, prospects;
o Guarantee the quality of statistical studies and analyzes and their availability.
• Portfolio:
o Provide methods, analyzes and technical studies adapted to help identify the components of fraud and assess its impacts (prospective and predictive studies)
o Carry out quality statistical studies on the portfolio (monitoring dashboards of customers in self-financing, benchmark, etc.);
o Participate in monthly commented analyzes (Barometer type);
o Participate in innovation projects in terms of modernizing the offer and improving tools by providing the necessary statistical expertise;
o Ensure compliance with SLAs.
• New Business and Tools:
o If necessary, provide technical medical consumption data to contribute to the drafting of H&B tenders in collaboration with the Sales Forces;
o Assist in H&B solutions sales process, retention and new business development.

 




 

o Contributes to providing Resources/Methodologies (Intellectual Capital) that can be used by the Sales Forces, Medical Advisors, Operations Teams, Research Department, etc.;
o Contributes to training the various actors in the use of these resources;
o Contribute to creating training materials to be made available on the Learning Center;
o Contributes to forming a pool of junior talents;
o Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

o Follow the rules of Excellence (data protection, 4 eyes review, etc.);
o Organize the work and deliverables so that they are reusable;
o Contribute to the development of models and technical tools (rating, rating of schemes, etc.) in compliance with WTW rules and with the objectives of Efficiency and Knowledge Sharing;
o Be a source of proposals to help improve the efficiency of H&B Claims Analysis;
o Ensure continued compliance with WTW guidelines and procedures;
o Contribute to the design of new products;
o Contribute to designing a library of benchmark and study restitution reports;
o Contribute to defining and systematizing portfolio client business lines;
o Contribute to defining scales for scoring benefit and guarantee grids;
o Provide, as needed, statistical and actuarial expertise within the framework of WTW reporting tools;
o Contribute to the development of sector and portfolio performance and risk indicators (anticipation of the aging effect and demographic projection, etc.);
o Contribute to the development of balance sheets and prospects for clients, business sectors and portfolio;
o Help innovate and design new health and reinsurance products;
o Produce training and technical publications;
o Contribute to ensuring the technical watch on the tools and methods for analyzing medical data.

 

 

 

Your profile

• Have a Bac + 5 diploma in Statistician/Actuary;
• Experience: minimum of 5/7 years of professional experience successfully carried out in the analysis and monitoring of H&B portfolios;
• Relevant experience in big data analytics – strong analytical and creative skills;
• Advocacy skills – motivating and encouraging, decision-making ability;
• People skills – understanding and responding to subordinates’ needs and aspirations, avoiding conflict, understanding personal preferences and concerns;
• Technical knowledge in insurance, preferably on H&B issues: Experience in the health insurance industry;
• Communication skills – good oral and written skills
• Fluent in English and another local language;
• Computer knowledge and skills, expert or advanced level with R and Excel/VBA, good command of Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint;
• Sense of organization and respect for commitments;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, autonomous, results-oriented, works with minimal supervision;
• Ability to work under pressure: Proven experience in simultaneously managing several priorities by completing them on time and producing quality deliverables;
• Neat and well-developed oral and written communication skills;
• Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and solve problems;
• Strong analytical and creative skills;
• Ability to see the “big picture”, leveraging related resources and practices to address contract management challenges.
