RECRUITMENT OF A RESEARCH OFFICER FOR THE SEMBE I PROJECT BASED IN MAROUA
Who are we ?
The Cameroonian Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is a non-governmental organization under Cameroonian law whose main mission is to improve the social situation of the Cameroonian population in a sustainable and measurable manner and to promote the health and prosperity of families. Thus, ACMS works in cooperation with the government and its public and private sector partners to deliver high-quality health programs, reaching all populations in need. For over twenty-five years, ACMS has provided the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria control, HIV and hepatitis control. among others.

The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) obtained funding from the “System to End the Malaria Burden Through Meaningful Engagement (SEMBE l)” of the United States Agency for Development (USAID) to support the National Program team Malaria Control Program (PNLP) to lead and implement evidence-based malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment services at regional and community levels, focusing on the Far North region. Cameroon. This project also strengthens the Government’s capacity to guide and promote local solutions in the fight against malaria in line with the objectives of the Republic of Cameroon and in support of the USAlD priorities described in the cooperation strategy for development of the country 2020-2025 (CDCS).
Based in the Far North region, the project will implement a sustainable and evidence-based approach to the control and elimination of malaria, through four objectives: – Objective 1: Increase access
and the use of quality malaria diagnosis, insecticide-treated nets (ITNs), and drug-based prevention and treatment services at the facility and community levels.
– Objective 2: Increase the adoption of prevention and treatment-seeking behaviors for malaria and other febrile illnesses
– Objective 3: Improve access to quality data on malaria and their use.
– Objective 4: Strengthen health systems to optimize planning, coordination and management of the local response to malaria and other febrile illnesses.
Your Contribution:
Assist in planning and carrying out surveys and studies as part of the project;
– Determine research and learning questions arising from the implementation of the project;
– Assist in the use of research results to write reports, articles and analyzes and the presentation of results in journals and conferences;
– Assist in the interpretation of results, data analysis and draw deductions and conclusions;
– Produce summaries of quantitative and qualitative information; Contribute to feedback to all players in the information system
– Collaborate with research teams, stakeholders and government agencies;
– Perform any other task related to the activities assigned to you.

We are looking for one (1) Research Officer (M/F) who will embody the ACMS values listed below:

The Basics:
Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in public health (BAC+3), statistics, social sciences, or international development;
Have at least three (03) years of relevant professional experience in conducting investigations/monitoring and evaluation, including the training and supervision of investigating agents;
Ability to write technical and programmatic documents such as training manuals and study reports; Understand public health approaches in the context of Cameroon;
Have a good knowledge of the health system in Cameroon;
Mastery of electronic data collection;
Have knowledge of conducting operational research
Have at least 3 technical references in the coordination of socio-demographic studies, particularly in the training and supervision of field staff.
What would interest us?
Familiarity with NGOs;
Fluency in French and knowledge of English;
Good command of IT tools and statistical software (Microsoft Suite, Stata, R, SPSS etc.)
Have a high level of autonomy at work, but with a deep team spirit;
Have an ability to work under pressure,
Demonstrate a capacity for adaptation, patience, ingenuity, resilience and flexibility •
Have skills in results-based management; Possess the ability to maintain working relationships in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment while being sensitive and respectful of diversity;
Demonstrate creativity and innovation in your work and demonstrate your sense of integrity;
Passion for public health;
Available to carry out regular field missions.
