In the As part of strengthening risk management, Advans Cameroon is looking for a passionate, competent and dynamic Operational Risk and Internal Control Manager.

Contract: Permanent Number of positions: 1

 

 

YOUR MAIN MISSIONS:

Design and implement policies, procedures and practices for operational risk management and internal control within the organization.
Carry out a map of non-compliance risks in order to identify risk management systems and action plans to put in place;
Assess, monitor and mitigate operational risks in accordance with regulatory standards, best practices and company policies.
Ensure that all activities of the institution comply with applicable rules and regulations.
Coordinate internal and external audits, and implement appropriate corrective measures.
Ensure awareness and training of staff on the rules, procedures and good practices for operational risk management and internal control.
Participate fully in change management, anticipating the improvements necessary to maintain activities and control risks;
Lead the network of different internal control agents;
Help different managers adapt, if necessary, internal control measures to the particular situation of their team or department;

 

 

Establish and implement a control plan specific to non-compliance risks;
Supervise control missions;
Ensure monitoring of the controls put in place and the procedures for processing operations via an alert reporting system with indicators such as the error rate, deadlines, etc.;
Ensure the collection of incidents linked to non-compliance risks;
Analyze, evaluate risk exposure and propose improvement plans;
Verify that the bank complies with laws, regulations and professional standards;
Guarantee the quality and level of security of information systems;
Lead the internal control self-assessment program in each unit;
Establish a certain number of indicators to monitor the effectiveness of the control system and organize verifications on the ground;
Prepare regular reports for the management committee and internal and external stakeholders.
Lead the operational risk recommendations monitoring committee and produce reports to the Risk and Recovery Department and the executive body on a monthly basis.

Required profile:

Bac+5 level in Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking, Auditing…
Minimum experience of 3 years as a senior internal controller
Experience in Microfinance or banking would be preferable
Mastery of regulations in matters of compliance policy
Good understanding of risk;
Asset: bilingualism / French-English
Proven managerial skills
Good basics in IT.
