Recruitment notice: STI/HIV AIDS facilitator
The Government of Cameroon and the World Bank signed on February 28, 2019, a credit agreement intended to finance the Development Project for Inclusive and Resilient Cities (PDVIR). The PDVIR wants to increase resilience to natural hazards and other eligible crises. The project aims for spatial inclusion by: (i) improving access to infrastructure and urban services for residents of poor neighborhoods; (ii) economic inclusion by promoting access to economic opportunities for these residents; (iii) social inclusion by strengthening citizen engagement and in situ upgrading to minimize resettlement and reduce costs.
Following a call for expression of interest, the companies AVIC INTL and ZCCC LTD were contracted to carry out the activities of the component: Improving access to infrastructure and urban services for residents of poor neighborhoods.
The impact of the project on the local populations is a very important aspect both for the government of Cameroon and for the World Bank. Indeed, in August 2016, the Board of Directors of the World Bank approved the Environmental and Social Framework (CES) which aims to protect people and the environment against the potential adverse effects of projects financed by the Bank, and promote sustainable development .
It is in this context that the NGO RIDEV was selected to reduce and mitigate the risks related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse / Gender Violence (VCS), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV-AIDS. in the municipalities of Arrondissent of Douala 3rd and 5th through awareness and prevention.
To this end, in order to conduct outreach activities in the area of intervention, it is planned to recruit one (01) STI/HIV AIDS facilitator responsible for carrying out the following tasks.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the project manager, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Contribute to the planning of STI/HIV AIDS activities, to the development of tools and to ensure the implementation of awareness-raising and community mobilization activities within the framework of the Project (PDVIR);
- Prepare, implement and ensure the reporting of STI/HIV AIDS activities within the framework of the overall planning of the project;
- Establish and maintain positive contact with target communities and other project stakeholders;
- Contribute to building the capacity of communities and other actors in the context of project activities;
- Contribute to the capitalization of the project through the collection and processing of data, the writing of success stories and testimonials;
- Work closely with other team members to achieve project results;
- Ensure electronic and physical archiving of project documents.
KNOWLEDGE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University level Baccalaureate +2 in Sociology, Protection, Psychology, Law or another social science option;
- Prior experience of at least 2 years in a position of protection facilitator in general and GBV in particular within an NGO;
Good command of facilitation techniques and community mobilization approaches including community meetings, educational talks and home visits
- Good knowledge of the Douala 5th and 3rd District ;
- Proficiency in other languages commonly spoken in the locality is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative;
- Has the following strengths: teamwork, easy adaptation, learning, planning, organization and evaluation; responsibility and autonomy;
- Good knowledge of computer tools (Word, Excel, Power Point).
