CARE – INNOVATE – TOGETHER: Since its creation in 2009, ALIMA has treated more than 7 million patients, and today deploys its operations in 12 African countries. In 2019, we developed 41 humanitarian medical response projects to meet the needs of populations affected by conflict, epidemics and extreme poverty. All of these projects are carried out in support of the national health authorities through nearly 330 health structures (including 28 hospitals and 300 health centers). We work in partnership, particularly with local NGOs, whenever possible to ensure that our patients benefit from the expertise where it is, whether in their country or the rest of the world. In addition, to improve the humanitarian response,
ALIMA promotes and defends the principles of fundamental human rights. ALIMA has a zero-tolerance approach towards people guilty of acts of gender-based and sexual violence as well as towards inaction in the face of alleged or proven acts of violence. The protection of those benefiting from and impacted by our intervention is our top priority in everything we do. Anyone collaborating with ALIMA agrees to:
- Respect the charter, the code of conduct, the institutional policies including the policy of protection against abuse of power and sexist and sexual violence, the policy of prevention of corruption and fraud;
- Report any violation of the policies, framework documents and procedures to a superior, to a referent.
THE ALIMA TEAM: More than 2000 people currently work for ALIMA. The field teams, closest to the patients, receive their support from the coordination teams generally based in the capitals of the countries of intervention. These receive support from the 4 desk teams and the emergency and opening service team based at the operational headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. The Paris and New York teams are actively working on fundraising as well as representing ALIMA. The rest of the ALIMA Galaxy includes individuals and partner teams who work on behalf of other organizations such as the medical NGOs BEFEN, ALERTE Santé, SOS Médecins/KEOOGO, AMCP, the research organizations PACCI, INSERM, the Universities of Bordeaux or Copenhagen, the NGO Solidarités International and many others.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
ALIMA’s funding mainly depends on the confidence of its institutional donors as well as the transparency of its administrative and financial logistics management procedures. The sexual and reproductive health supervisor defines and implements, for the maternity wards and in collaboration with the referring doctor, the human, material and organizational resources necessary to guarantee the safety, continuity and quality of nursing care activities.
FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINKS
He/she reports to the Referring Physician (hierarchical and technical manager). He supervises the nurses, midwives and caregivers supported by ALIMA and collaborates with the MoH staff, the HRAM staff, the data manager as well as the other project supervisors, the MOH doctors, the health supervisor mental health, the project pharmacy manager, the project logistics team, the project administrator, the partners on site, and the other MOH members of the Mokolo health district….
Duties:
Improve the quality of preventive, promotional and curative care services in Sexual and Reproductive Health by implementing national protocols and directives in Sexual Reproductive Health (refocused CPN, CPON, CPE).
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to health centers for sexual and reproductive health activities;
- Strengthen the activities of the preventive nutritional and promotional package in SS;
- Strengthen the technical capacities of healthcare providers through formative supervision and direct support to health centres;
- Provide technical support to health centers in the promotion of sanitation hygiene;
- Improve the availability and management of drugs and medical consumables, and any other materials for reproductive health;
- Strengthen the health information system on the Sexual Reproductive Health component.
Profile sought for the position:
- State diploma in midwifery/maieutician (health professional), Master in reproductive health;
- Excellent knowledge in sexual and reproductive health particularly on refocused prenatal consultation, post natal consultation, childbirth and sensitization on IANJE, family planning. Good knowledge of national care protocols and the use of SRH tools in Cameroon;
- Prior humanitarian experience preferable;
- Experience of 1 to 2 years as a midwife in a health establishment;
- Have a driving license for motorcycles.

- Proficiency in local languages (Fulfulde, Mafa, Moufou…) would be an asset.
Languages : Fluency in French (read, written, spoken) is essential.
Local languages are assets.
