Ensure the continuity of project activities in the Adamaoua region

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As part of the implementation of NFM3 Community Directed Interventions (ISDC) activities funded by the Global Fund to Fight Tuberculosis, HIV-AIDS and Malaria in the Adamaoua region, Plan International Cameroon has been mandated as secondary beneficiary (SR) in charge of the community component in the 08 regions of Cameroon except the North-West and the South-West. As part of this activity, regional coordination and supervision of the ISDCs in the health districts targeted by the intervention are planned. To this end, the supervision of routine activities must be carried out by the regional supervisor and the assistant accountant who are driven to the field by the project driver. The latter therefore has the role of leading the Plan International Cameroon teams in and outside the regional capital to monitor the implementation of the said activities. The current driver requesting to take his annual leave and in order not to paralyze the activities, a temporary driver must be recruited for the period of absence of the main driver.

 

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE:

Plan International Cameroon in its role of community RH is responsible for covering 39 health areas in 04 targeted health districts of the Adamaoua region. The strategies implemented are prevention, sensitization and management of simple cases of diseases (malaria and ARI) underpinned by the coordination and supervision of cascade activities. Activities are supervised by the regional level on a quarterly basis using the project vehicle made available for this purpose. This vehicle is driven by a driver who has the duty to master the region.

Main Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Adamaoua Regional Field Supervisor, the Project Driver must:

Drive Plan International Cameroon staff out and into the town of Ngaoundéré;
Ensure the transport of packages in the health districts of the Adamaoua region;
Collect and route correspondence from Plan International Cameroon
Ensure regular maintenance of the interior and exterior of the vehicle made available;
Respect vehicle maintenance appointments and report any problems;
Keep accurate account of fuel usage, mileage and other vehicle data;
Fill in the vehicle log each time you travel.
 

 

Job requirements

Have at least a BEPC or a CAP;
Hold a valid category B driving licence;
Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience;
Strict respect of the highway code;
Proven driver experience;
Perfect knowledge of the roads of the health districts of the Adamaoua region;
Ability to lift heavy packages;
Availability to drive on weekends;
Politeness and professionalism.

Requirements and demands related to the job environment
Be willing to work in and outside the city of Ngaoundéré;
Be prepared to spend short stays in communities;
Be willing to work under pressure.
