Recruitment Notice: Transport Logistics Officer
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Transport and Asset Logistics Officer’s mission is to ensure the day-to-day implementation of the responsibilities of the logistics function, and more particularly the management of transport and Assets at NRC Yaoundé.
RESPONSIBILITIES
I – General Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with NRC policies, manuals, guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and donor requirements
Perform delegated logistics functions in accordance with the action plan
Conduct day-to-day operational logistics activities and ensure their follow-up
Contribute the administration of resources so that deliverables are carried out according to established budgets, deadlines and standards
Prepare and develop logistics reports as requested by the country/area office
Contribute to the development of SOPs as needed
Ensure proper archiving of all supporting documents
Promote and share ideas to improve the logistics function
Perform other duties assigned by the hierarchical superior
II- Specific responsibilities
1- Management of the vehicle fleet
Organize and plan the movement of personnel in the field by plane and by road
Ensure compliance with the vehicle management procedure
Supervise and monitor the overall maintenance of vehicles in link with NRC drivers and rental vehicle agency
Ensure that all mission-wide vehicle legal documents and procedures are up-to-date
Ensure monthly data recording of vehicles across the mission’s fleet in the TERRAMAR software
Manage the base team of drivers in their day-to-day activities
Participate in the ongoing general training of drivers and regularly test their knowledge
Complete all necessary documents for the transport of goods
Ensure the archiving of all mission vehicle management documents in OFFICE 365 on a monthly basis
Provide to the line manager of monthly forecasts in terms of vehicle maintenance and all other vehicle-related expenses
Give immediate feedback in the event of an incident in and around our work area to the hierarchical superior
2- Asset Management Ensures
the maintenance of the asset tracking
file
registration and monitoring of all assets of the mission
Participates in the drafting of donor reports on assets
Participates in the operational implementation of asset management procedures.
Take an active part in the periodic planning and review meetings of the activities of his department
Write all the weekly and/or monthly reports that will be requested by the team leader or the department head within the required deadlines
List the difficulties encountered on the base and propose solutions for their resolution
QUALIFICATIONS
General professional skills:
Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Transport or equivalent Diploma
Professional experience as a Logistics Officer, in charge of transport in a humanitarian context
Good knowledge of the asset management
Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts.
Demonstrated results on the responsibilities of the position
Knowledge of English is an asset
Context-specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Results -oriented
Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, teams and internet
Know how to express yourself in front of a variety of audiences
Strong writing skills
We offer:
12-month fixed-term contract (with possibility of extension depending on the availability of funds)
