For our operations in Cameroon, we are urgently looking for:
A WASH PROJECT CHARGE.

I- PURPOSE OF THE JOB Action Contre la Faim is an International, non-political, non-confessional and non-profit

Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Organize and supervise construction and/or rehabilitation works.  Assess the water supply of the populations identified during multi-sectoral RRM assessmentsby various technical means.




 

 

II- JOB MISSIONS
Mission 1: Implement water supply activities
Tasks:
 Diagnose hydraulic works (Super structure, drainage system,
system supply, plumbing, etc.;)
 Produce quotes for equipment and needs for the rehabilitation of the structures
diagnosed;
 Produce the plans of the work to be carried out;
 With the support of the Health Nutrition Program Manager and the support of the
WASH Manager, design robust water treatment and control systems
to ensure that the water provided to beneficiaries is fit for
human consumption;
 Train and supervise the construction or rehabilitation team;

 

 

 Manage the supervision of all water treatment systems and
water quality control;
 Provide weekly reports on the status of all
water treatment systems and control activities.
 Maintain comprehensive control systems over materials and tools used, including
quality records of purchased materials;
 Participate in the review and evaluation of work in order to contribute to the improvement of
program delivery and quality;
 Report any equipment failure or malfunction to the
program manager.
Assignment 2:

 

 

Tasks:
 Ensure the proper use of the tools/materials made available to service providers
and communities;
 Assess latrine needs and draw up bills of quantities and technical plans
for the works;
 Manage the construction/rehabilitation of sanitary facilities (latrines, incinerators,
drains, washing places, etc.) on the ground;
 Ensure the quality and quantity of materials, compliance with plans,
standards and technical specifications;
 Ensure that materials and equipment are used correctly in the
field;
Mission 3: Implement hygiene promotion activities
Tasks:
 Maintain and strengthen links with communities;
 Support Hygienists in defection activities (training,
support);
 Support and strengthen the capacities of community relays in terms of IPC,
 Assess and update the needs of the project (HR, financial, logistics);
 Identify and prevent problems or constraints;
 Participate in the training / retraining of CHWs
Mission 4: Participate in the reporting and capitalization of WASH activities
Tasks:
 Write a weekly report on the progress of work and monitoring of consumption of
materials;
 Establish a weekly report of activities to be validated by the hierarchy;
 Control the site books written by the service providers;
 Participate in the capitalization of project activities.
Mission 5: Represent the organization’s interface with communities and
service providers
Tasks:
 Develop contacts with key people in the communities (
water and latrine committees, DDMINEE health center staff, mechanic
repairer pump, etc;
 Report any information relating to safety and working conditions,
 Represent the organization as an interface with village communities and
service providers…
Mission 6: Participate in humanitarian monitoring and offers
Tasks:
 Contribute to the assessment and analysis of the humanitarian context in
ACF’s area of ​​intervention by collecting reliable information in the field;
 Contribute to the identification of focal points and feed the database of
contacts;
 Develop contacts with the humanitarian community and key people in
the communities to ensure that information is transmitted correctly.
III. DIPLOMA/LEVEL OF STUDY AND EXPERIENCE
 BTS/BAC+2 or more in civil engineering, hydraulics.
 Have at least 2 years of experience in the field of construction / rehabilitation
of works related to water and sanitation; and preferably in an
international humanitarian organization
IV. REQUIRED SKILLS
 Knowledge of procurement process
 Good ability to draw up technical drawings and work specifications
 Team management and business planning
 Communication skills
 Knowledge of local languages
​​ Flexibility
 Dynamism
 Good sense of the organization
 Good aptitude for writing reports
 Good knowledge of the area of ​​intervention
RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE
The Action Against Hunger recruitment procedure includes 3 key stages:
