For over twenty-five years, ACMS has been providing the Cameroonian population with comprehensive, evidence-based public health interventions, including programs in reproductive health, malaria and HIV prevention among others.
Join us! ! The Cameroon Association for Social Marketing (ACMS) is looking for candidates in the position of Key Population Specialists (M/F) to provide services in Ngaoundere and Garoua.
What do we recruit?
The Key Population (KP) Specialists will lead the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of activities aimed at improving access to HIV prevention, treatment, and care services for key populations (KP), and priority populations. The KP Specialist will work closely with health facilities, community-based organizations, and peer leaders to ensure a comprehensive approach to KP health services while promoting safe sex practices, adherence, and community mobilization efforts. They work in partnership with the Integrated Service Delivery Specialist .
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with healthcare facilities to establish and reinforce KP-friendly health centers and clinics;
Ensure that facilities meet the required standards for delivering inclusive and stigma-free services to key populations;
Engage KP peer leaders from community partners to support the creation of KP-friendly services and promote adherence to HIV prevention methods, such as PrEP;
Facilitate the participation of KP peer leaders in community outreach, mobilization, and follow-up activities;
Organize and oversee periodic focus-group discussions or support groups for KPs in health facilities to encourage dialogue around safe sex practices, adherence, and treatment follow-up;
Train healthcare providers, KP focal points, and other stakeholders on the HIV prevention package targeting KP, AGYW, and ABYM;
Organize joint annual training with CSOs and other partners to ensure the delivery of KP-friendly services at the community and facility levels;
Deploy KP peer leaders and facility focal points to conduct community mobilization and awareness activities on HIV prevention;
Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Social Network Testing (SNT) strategy with an incentivized approach, ensuring monthly incentives for KP peer leaders and focal points to enhance engagement.
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Public Health, Social Sciences, Nursing, or other related field (Master’s degree preferred);
At least 3 years of experience in HIV prevention and care programs, particularly with key populations;
Strong understanding of KP health challenges and best practices in providing KP-friendly services;
Experience in training healthcare providers and community workers on KP-sensitive approaches;
Proficient in coordinating large-scale community outreach and peer-led initiatives;
Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage multiple stakeholders.
