About the AUF
AUF – the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, created 60 years ago, is today the world’s leading university network with more than 1,000 members: universities, grandes écoles, and research centers in nearly 120 countries. I – PRESENTATION OF THE POSITION
Based in Yaoundé (Cameroon) since 1995, the AUF – Central Africa and Great Lakes regional office manages a network of 116 university establishments in 11 countries (Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Chad, Zimbabwe).
It has seven (7) national offices: in Burundi (Bujumbura), Cameroon (Yaoundé), Congo (Brazzaville), Gabon (Libreville), Central African Republic (Bangui), Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa) and Chad (N’Djamena).
Under the authority of the Deputy Regional Director – Administration, the Regional Digital Manager supports the digital transformation of the regional management and AUF member institutions in the region, coordinates the region’s technical teams, participates in the implementation of shared expertise teams within the AUF – Central Africa and Great Lakes regional management.
II. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical coordination at the regional level
Contribute to the formalization, development and implementation of regional digital and IT projects or those of the digital management
Coordinate, implement, participate in digital and IT transformation projects in the region or the digital management
Supervise the regional team of local technical managers, complement and promote their skills
Ensure the interface between the regional management and the digital management
Explain the training and support offer associated with digital services
Train, advise and assist users
Help local technical managers to build their own local digital offer based on the components of the AUF’s global information system
Carry out technical expertise missions
Support AUF network establishments in their digital transformation/evolution
Promote the digital service offer proposed by the AUF to member establishments and users
Offer expertise to AUF member institutions wishing to develop/update their digital policy or master plan (services and/or information systems)
Support the formalization, development and implementation of digital projects of AUF member institutions
Help AUF member institutions build their own local digital offering
Participation in one of the shared expertise teams
Contribute to the efforts to share expertise in the form of clearly identified permanences, where applicable, participate in their implementation, or even ensure their coordination
Respect the procedures developed
Participate in quality reviews of shared systems and propose any relevant improvements
Participate in technology monitoring, keep informed of the main developments in the areas of expertise concerned and make innovative proposals
III – QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education
Undergraduate university degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience relevant to the position
Experience in an international, multi-site and multicultural context, an asset
Skills
Knowledge of architecture and technical environment of information and telecommunications systems
Knowledge of the main operating systems, servers and workstations and cloud environments
Knowledge of network administration
Mastery of cloud tools
Knowledge of IT security standards and procedures
Ability to lead teams in person and remotely
Ability to listen and communicate
Strong ability to anticipate and resolve problems
Demonstrate loyalty, integrity, ethics and solidarity
Proficiency in written and oral French
IV – CONDITIONS
Location of assignment: Yaoundé, Cameroon
Type of contract: Fixed-term contract of two (2) years, with possibility of renewal
Start date: As soon as possible
Candidates who do not have Cameroonian nationality or residence must hold a valid work permit.
