FHI 360 is currently recruiting a (01) Senior Project Coordinator for the USAID-funded
Community Resilience Support Program in Cameroon (PARC-Cameroon) based in the city of Yaoundé. PARC-Cameroon supports the institutional capacity building of local civil society organizations in Cameroon so they can better represent and serve their communities and
contribute to the achievement of their development objectives at the
community level.
CONTEXT
FHI 360 is currently recruiting a Senior Project Coordinator for its USAID-funded project called the Community
Resilience Support Program in Cameroon (PARC-Cameroon). The objective of PARC-Cameroon is to empower Cameroonians to meet their needs through improved access to services and advocacy capacity. During this Phase, the project will expand to new geographic areas and implement activities under a sub-objective that aims to understand the
factors, actors and locations of electoral violence, challenges, needs and opportunities
of media and civil society actors, as well as
governmental and non-governmental institutions, in order to provide accurate and credible information
for the implementation of a peaceful and violence-free election in
Cameroon.
The position of Senior Project Coordinator will be based in Yaoundé in the
Centre region and will report to the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP).
JOB SUMMARY
As a Senior Project Coordinator, you will coordinate the management of the
program activities which includes strategic partners (
civil society organizations and the media) in the Centre, Littoral, West and North regions, in
collaboration with the various project coordinators at the level of each region
and the DCOP. You will ensure high quality implementation of the program based on
the objectives and expected results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management
• Provide technical advice on issues related to
electoral processes as well as civil documentation;
• Ensure technical and results-oriented management of PARCCameroun’s work through its activities;
• Manage the program’s workflow and information to ensure the
collaboration and synergy of actions with all strategic partners and
stakeholders in the region;
• Ensure the execution of strategic partners’ activities in compliance with the
clauses of the contract and its overall compliance as the project manager
in the area;
• Coordinate partners’ activities in accordance with the project description
and prepare work tools according to the activities and monitor the deadlines for implementing
activities and reporting;
• Ensure a conducive working environment with strategic partners and
the PARC-Cameroon team;
• Participate in various meetings/clusters with development
and government stakeholders to present project activities and ensure
PARC’s visibility in the area.
Coordination and reporting
• Ensure the operational and technical management of the Yaoundé base;
• Coordination of project activities in the Centre, Littoral, West and
North regions;
• Monitor the needs of Yaoundé office members and project coordinators
in terms of level of effort to ensure adequate
resource coverage;
• Preparation, monitoring and operationalization of PARC-Cameroon activities in the
area, as well as the preparation of deliverables;
• Regular reporting on the progress of PARC-Cameroon;
• Implementation of recommendations from PARC-Cameroon Management to
advance the program;
• Participate in periodic coordination meetings and report on the
progress of activities as well as difficulties;
• Identify potential risks to the program in the area, monitor risks
and report regularly to the DCOP;
• Contact person for PARC-Cameroon and for the coordination of the
program in the central region;
• Support for the organization of reflection workshops at the level of the central region
and possibly in other regions with strategic partners to
exchange on lessons learned, best practices and obstacles of the
program;
• Support the implementation of the communication and visibility plan for the
program in the region;
• Support the development of capacity building plans for partners
;
• Ensure capacity building of strategic partners on
issues related to electoral processes, monitor them and make proposals
for adjustments throughout the agreement; and
• Supervise the implementation of all activities of
the project’s strategic partners in the region aimed at contributing to a peaceful election in the country.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Have a Master’s degree in Law, Political Sociology, Political Science and
International Economics, or in a relevant field or an equivalent qualification
appropriate to the position;
• At least 5 to 6 years of professional experience in the coordination and implementation
of development projects;
• Have at least two years’ experience in peacebuilding
and conflict mitigation projects;
• Have at least 3 years’ experience in the implementation of projects on the
electoral process in Cameroon or elsewhere;
• Experience working with media and government actors;
• Experience in collaborating and supporting local CSOs in
humanitarian and development contexts;
• Experience in networking partners within the framework of
project implementation;
• Good experience in writing high quality reports based on
evidence of activities implemented;
• Good experience in capacity building of
civil society organizations;
• Excellent communication skills in a culturally
diverse environment and especially on sensitive topics;
• Excellent written and oral knowledge of French and English;
• Good command of the socio-political environment of the country.
