THE BANK :
- Offer the opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience in the Bank’s priority areas of activity,
- Provide the Bank with a reserve of potential candidates for future recruitment.
- However, candidates should not expect tenure at the end of their internship period.
Fields of study required for the internship:
- The disciplines in which interns are selected must be part of the Bank’s job families, in particular economics, agriculture, private sector development, human capital development (education and health), environment , finance, infrastructure development, human resources management, information technology, communications, law, internal audit, budget, governance or any other discipline that the Bank deems relevant to its operations.
- Particular interest is given to students working on projects directly related to the Bank’s mission.
Schedule for Session 1 of the 2024 Program:
Session 1 of the 2024 Internship Program will begin in January 2024. Internship
Terms and Conditions Internships
are granted to each candidate for a minimum duration of three (3) months up to six (6) months maximum. Internships are permitted only once per candidate.
- The selected interns will carry out their internship either remotely or in person depending on the needs of their respective host units. Remote interns must have access to a personal computer, a reliable internet connection, and a conducive living environment that facilitates smooth, uninterrupted remote work.
- In-person interns will be responsible for their own round-trip air travel expenses (if applicable) as well as their living expenses.
- The Bank will assist, as far as possible, the interns concerned in obtaining their entry and residence visas in the Bank’s host countries where they will carry out their internship.
- Interns will benefit from medical insurance coverage paid by the Bank for the duration of their internship.
- Eligible interns will receive a monthly stipend.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the internship program, the candidate must:
- Must have reached the age of majority in their country of nationality or origin and be no more than thirty (30) years old at the time of beginning the internship program.
- Be enrolled in a master’s level program in a recognized public or private higher education establishment.
- The candidate can apply for an internship within one (1) year after graduating.
- Be nationals of a member country of the African Development Bank.
- Provide a letter from their school confirming their registration or a copy of the aforementioned diploma.
- Candidates must be fluent in at least one of the Bank’s two working languages (English or French).
- Be able to use the Bank’s standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
