Duration of appointment: Permanent position after a probationary period of two (2) years .

Eligibility condition

  • Be a national of one of the OAPI member countries. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates from under-represented countries within the Organization
  • Be under the age of 55 on the closing date for submitting applications.
  • Enjoy their civil rights and be of good moral character.

 

 

 




 

 

Main powers

Under the supervision of the Managing Director, he/she is mainly responsible for:

  • Propose and ensure the implementation of the accounting and financial policy of the organization,
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the services;
  • Coordinate the accounting of the Organization;
  • Propose means of securing and making profitable the assets of the Organization;
  • Produce and process the financial information necessary for decision-making;
  • Produce financial statements;
  • Collaborate with the financial controller in the preparation of the Organization’s budget
  • Oversee the processing of the Organization’s financial transactions;
  • Use the auditor’s reports;
  • Supervise the analysis of general and third-party accounts;
  • Coordinate the inventory on fixed assets;
  • Check the calculation of the cost price of the investments;
  • Develop and monitor the dashboard of management activities;
  • Monitor the Organization’s treasury operations;
  • Formulate cash optimization proposals;
  • Build financial performance indicators;
  • Ensure the management of employees;
  • Perform periodic management reports.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications required

  • Have a 3rd cycle diploma (BAC + 5) in Accounting and Finance/Management or any other diploma recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
  • Have at least ten (10) years of professional experience in a supervisory or management position;
  • Justify at least 05 years of professional experience in an Accounting Firm or in the accounting and financial management of an International Organization or a Public Administration;
  • Have knowledge of auditing and management control;
  • Have knowledge of international accounting standards;
  • Have knowledge of labor law;
  • Have computer knowledge and master the most common software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP);
  • Have a good organization in the work, be rigorous on the respect of deadlines and be able to work under pressure.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the French language. 
  • Knowledge of the English language would be an asset.
  • A good knowledge of the intellectual property system would be an asset.

Composition of the application file

The application file will include the following documents:

  • a completed application form (available at www.oapi.int );
  • an extract from the birth certificate or a certified true copy of the birth certificate or the supplementary judgment in lieu thereof;
  • a detailed curriculum vitae (certified by the administration of the last employer);
  • an extract from the criminal record dating from less than three months;
  • a certified copy of the diplomas, titles, certificates of qualification;
  • a regularly established certificate of public or private jobs previously held and indicating their duration;
  • a medical examination certificate attesting that the candidate fulfills the physical and mental aptitude conditions.

Remuneration

The position is classified in category C4 of the salary scale in force at OAPI. Recruitment is done at the 1st level. The person concerned will benefit from the advantages and indemnities under the conditions provided for by the texts in force.

Elements of the recruitment file
The successful candidate must, prior to taking up service:

  • present the originals of their diplomas, titles and civil status documents;
  • provide a sworn statement of free engagement or, if he/she is a civil servant, an act of secondment.
