The General Management of the MEC SA is recruiting for the need of its services an ASSISTANT INTERNAL AUDITOR EXPERIENCED IN MICROFINANCE for a contract of indefinite duration.

PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY

The mutual savings and credit of Cameroon abbreviated LA MEC SA is a microfinance institution of 2nd category, with variable capital of FCFA 500 000 000 with 08 agencies spread over the national territory.

MAIN MISSION

He/she is responsible for assisting the Chief Audit Executive in the organization and management of internal audit activities in accordance with audit plans, COBAC regulations and the International Professional Practice Framework (IPPF). This includes overseeing the audit process, making policy recommendations, and ensuring that microfinance meets its compliance obligations.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

• Drafting of the annual report to COBAC on internal control;
• Participate in the conduct of audit functions to ensure strict adherence to the approved schedule
• Participate in the assessment and independent evaluation of the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control system (in accordance with COBAC regulations)
• Conduct audit missions according to standard methodology (preparation, execution, drafting of the report and monitoring of implementation);
• Master the COBAC EMF R-2017/06 regulation on internal control in microfinance institutions;
• Participate in the assessment of the relevance, reliability and integrity of the financial information system;
• Assist the Head of Service in advising senior management on the improvement of the internal control and risk management system;
• Know how to write a risk map;
• Follow up on the effective implementation of validated recommendations

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

• In-depth knowledge of audit guidelines and regulations;
• Good analytical skills;
• Knowledge of finance, accounting and risk analysis;
• Mastery of the COBAC and OHADA accounting plans;
• Have a mastery of computer and office tools (Excel-Word and other banking software-ELOGE BANK)
• Strong knowledge and experience in audit methodologies and techniques.

Interpersonal/leadership skills

• Ability to establish strong relationships with interlocutors while investigating issues likely to challenge their limits;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
• Proven skills in managing people and teamwork

PROFILE

• Bac+4/5 in Accounting-Control-Audit
• Professional experience of at least four (04) years as an internal auditor, particularly in a microfinance, would be an asset.
• Good knowledge of microfinance legislation.
• Ability to plan, manage and monitor internal audits
• Have a sense of team spirit, discretion, autonomy, initiative…
