As part of the development of its activities in Cameroon, Benin, Mali, Central African Republic, TRANQUILLE is looking for a Road Safety Coordinator.

TRANQUILLE SARL is a Cameroonian company specializing in the management of car fleets
. It is present in CANADA, Cameroon, Benin, Mali, Central African Republic
. TRANQUILLE SARL supports companies, NGOs, local authorities, in projects
to reduce the operating costs of their company vehicles (from 5 to 40% per year),
professionalize their fleet management team and drivers, clean up their fleet management, supply of rental vehicles

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Implement the road safety management strategy driven by top management, and inherit the principles in culture

MISSIONS:

• Identifying road risks
• Analysing road risks
• Assess and classify road risks
• Addressing road risks
• Monitor and review incidents
• Managing emergencies

ATTRIBUTIONS :
Identify road risks

• Daily safety meetings with drivers and driver staff
• Analyze road risks Briefing before mission departure: give safety instructions to drivers
• Ensure the physical and psychological condition of drivers who go on mission
• Ensure that drivers meet intercity travel standards.
• Monitor and control drivers’ rest during missions (in rest areas)

Assess and classify road risks

• Debriefing on return from long-distance missions
• Building a database of road hazards
• Use risk assessment tools (JSA, ”driver Observations”, … etc)
• Analysing the impact of road risks
• PPE control

Addressing road risks

• Plan defensive driving and first aid training
• Implement an action plan to improve safety practices

Monitor and review incidents

• Produce regular road safety reports
• Set up immediate alert indicators: Speeding, bad overtaking… etc
• Write or update safety management procedures
• Evaluation of drivers (Eco driving, behavior, professionalism)
• Ensure the implementation of the road safety program
• Share lessons learned from incidents/accidents
• Inventory of safety accessories
• Educate staff on lessons learned from incidents to avoid recurrences

Managing security crises and emergencies

• Be the key contact in the event of an accident
• Interface with public security authorities
• Conduct accident investigations and identify root causes and lessons learned

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• QHSE / Logistics
• 2 to 3 years minimum in a similar position
• Bac + 3/5 in QHSE or equivalent diploma
• Be bilingual (English – French)
• Communication skills, good knowledge of the computer tool
• Perfect mastery of the use of GPS tracking software
