IOM is recruiting: Volunteer Program Support Specialist (M/F) – Yaoundé, Cameroon
Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading intergovernmental organization dedicated to migration issues. It is part of the United Nations system and works towards humane, orderly migration that benefits both migrants and societies. IOM supports governments and partners on migration policies, humanitarian responses, and sustainable development.
Mission context
Professional training
In response to the humanitarian, security and socio-economic crises in Cameroon (Far North, North West, South West and East), the IOM is implementing several projects related to:
- Stabilization and social cohesion of communities,
- Peacebuilding and conflict prevention,
- Support for displaced and vulnerable populations,
- The fight against migrant trafficking,
- Mobilizing partnerships to support development.
- The mission will take place in Yaoundé and its surrounding areas, with a particular focus on peacebuilding initiatives funded by the Japanese government.
Main responsibilities
Professional training
The Volunteer Program Support Specialist will contribute in particular to:
- Draft and consolidate project proposals aligned with IOM and donor priorities,
- Identify funding opportunities and support fundraising,
- Ensure coordination with partners, local authorities and UN agencies,
- Prepare project reports and ensure compliance with donor requirements,
- Strengthen the visibility and communication of IOM initiatives,
- Support project monitoring and evaluation.
Profile sought
- Age requirement: 18 to 80 years old
- Experience: minimum 3 years in a relevant field (development programs, economics, social sciences, security, migration, etc.)
- Education: Master’s degree in social sciences, economics, international development or similar fields.
LANGUAGES :
English: fluent level (required)
French: professional level (desired)
Key skills: professionalism, integrity, project management, clear communication, teamwork, adaptability and strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience in migration, climate change, peacebuilding or DDRR (disarmament, demobilization, reintegration) is an asset.
