About FOMCAM
FOMCAM is a community based mental health, non-governmental, not-for-profit, non-political, humanitarian organization with its head office in Bamenda, North West Region of the Republic of Cameroon. The organization was created in Bamenda, North West Region (NWR), Republic of Cameroon.
We are legally registered as a charitable not-for-profit organization with Ref. Reg. No. 1 2 / e. 2 9 / 1 1 1 1 / v o l .8 /APPB/14/05/2008 in response to concerns raised by the risky behaviours of orphan vulnerable children, widows, and the internally displaced persons abandoned by their relatives; with little or no support. Their frustration in the cities from the rural communities with the hope of being gainfully employed, earn a better life, education and personal development. Compounded by the high rate of poverty in the cities, these vulnerable class are allowed to faith in an unsafe space/environments. The absence of a safe space for this vulnerable allows for preys to plow with impunity on them thus increasing their vulnerability and mental health problems/illnesses.
In striving to survive without success, they become delinquent, school runner-ways (drop outs), drug addicts or harden criminals and choosing the easy way as cheap commercial sex workers as a means to survival. A few with meager jobs as housekeepers, nannies or sales girls/boys often get exploited/marginalized as they do not know their rights or are frustrated.
Approach To Address Their Plight
FOMCAM embarked on innovative approaches geared towards developing the vulnerable and needy youths/women through entrepreneurship, mental health wellness, and actors of change in their communities, and as well seek to formulate projects or programmes that eradicate poverty thus improve the conditions of orphan and vulnerable persons in every community in which we work in Cameroon through inclusive and innovative programs that are sustainable and in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
A Community Manager creates and manages a FOMCAM’s brand voice and image. His/her duties include creating and publishing content on all media platforms, reviewing social media and other marketing metrics to build and improve campaign strategies and crafting responses to customers’ feedback and messages on various platforms.
• Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies.
• Providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts.
• Responding to comments and customer queries in a timely manner.
Job brief
We are looking for a qualified Community manager to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media, PR and promotional events, we would like to meet you.
Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop engaging content. You should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.
Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications.
Responsibilities
• Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies
• Provide engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts
• Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner
• Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews
• Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness
• Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
• Liaise with Development and Sales departments to stay updated on new products and features
• Build relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals and journalists
• Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends
Requirements and skills
• You have prior experience within Community Management.
• You are a people person and are able to empathize and build rapport with others easily.
• Proven work experience as a community manager
• Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)
• Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics (e.g. repeat attendance at events)
• You have strong interpersonal skills and can build relationships with and influence stakeholders.
• You have excellent writing skills
• Hands on experience with social media management for brands
• Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics
• Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channels
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• You have a degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
• You have event management skills and are able to handle several multiplies responsibilities in a dynamic, evolving environment.
