The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé is seeking for its services one (01) qualified candidate to strengthen the team of the “Logistics” department according to the indications below:
Position: WAREHOUSE WORKER
Position based in: Kousseri (far north region of Cameroon)
Type of contract: 12-month fixed-term contract (offer reserved exclusively for Cameroonian nationals)
Starting date: As soon as possible
Main responsibilities
Distributes field equipment and has those concerned sign a tracking sheet for field trips;
Ensures the proper packaging and handling of goods; Prepares outgoing items according to logistics management methods and tools;
Controls and records the entries and exits of all goods (Bin card in the warehouse and stock card in his office binder);
Establishes, manages and maintains all logistics documents for which he is responsible (stock sheet, bin card, packing list, entry form, claim report, delivery notes, etc.) for the assistance stock; Performs periodic physical inventories at the end of the year and must be able to provide an up-to-date stock status at any time;
Identifies and reports in time products whose expiry date is approaching (with a 6-month shelf life); Responsible for the cleanliness, proper storage and organization of the various warehouses; Manages the team of handlers in his charge for unloading and loading operations; Ensures that periodic cleaning and maintenance activities of the warehouses are carried out on time and in accordance with standards;
Is responsible for the management of medical stock (monitoring the temperature of the premises and that of the cold chain);
Reports any anomaly related to medical stocks and other assistance stocks immediately to his hierarchical superior.
Knowledge and experience required
Higher Technicians’ Certificate (BTS) in logistics; in administration or in stock management;
Good knowledge of information tools (spreadsheet and word processing);
3 to 4 years of professional experience in a similar position;
Good knowledge of French, written / spoken;
Basic knowledge of written and spoken English.
Very good knowledge of computer tools (Word, Excel and Power Point)
Sense of organization, responsibility and priorities;
Ability to work independently;
Rigorous, motivated, patient and pragmatic person;
Ability to work in a team and good communication skills.
