Health Field Officer 3 (M/F) needed at International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)  no later than 28/09/2025 at 5:00 p.m. (Cameroon time).

The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé is seeking for its services one (01) qualified candidate to strengthen the team of the “Health” department as indicated below:

Position: Health Field Officer 3 (M/F)

Position based in: Yaoundé

Type of contract: 12-month fixed-term contract (offer reserved exclusively for Cameroonian nationals)

Starting date: As soon as possible
Main responsibilities
 Assists the Health Coordinator in carrying out activities and ensures health coordination as needed;
 Supervises health activities in the field in collaboration with health delegates;  Represents the health department at meetings with partners;  Ensures health integration within other ICRC departments;  Assesses, identifies and prioritizes the health needs of the population concerned, taking into account vulnerable groups and the coping mechanisms of the population and the community;  Proposes strategies, procedures and corrective actions in the planning of health interventions, at the technical and logistical levels, in coordination with the departments concerned;  Provides appropriate responses to health challenges and assists teams as needed;  Prepares activity reports, technical and statistical reports, as well as briefing notes on the evolving context and the health response;  Communicates and reports internally and externally on the health context and the needs of the population, as well as on relevant national security and political issues;  Is responsible for monitoring the medical activities database;  In charge of the medical activities databases, including configuration, data verification, liaison with field teams and the data service for data correction, if necessary;  Visits the field ensuring the monitoring, evaluation and adjustment of programs according to the objectives set;  Acts as institutional memory of the health department by writing essential and relevant notes of past events related to the programs or the different departments/management. Required knowledge and experience

 Degree in Medicine or Nursing or other relevant health profession (Psychology, Psychiatry or Paramedical/Dispensary/Paramedical Sciences);
 Qualifications in Public Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Health Management are an asset;
 Good knowledge of the health system in Cameroon and skills in managing public health events;
 Ability to create and maintain a network of relevant health interlocutors in Cameroon;
 Proven skills in managing health programs and teams in the field;
 Professional/clinical and/or community experience in the health field (clinical) with a minimum of 5 years of experience is highly desirable;
Good command (oral and written) of English and French;
Ability to work independently;
Good analytical, synthesis and writing skills;
Good oral communication skills; Good listening and dialogue skills;
 Good ability to work within a multicultural and multidisciplinary team;
 Good knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel), Internet messaging (Lotus, Outlook).
