RECRUITMENT NOTICE (02) FFA / NUTRITION FIELD AGENTS
Identification
Position title: FFA / Nutrition Field Agent
Reports to: FFA / Nutrition Field Supervisor
Place of assignment: Logone et Chari / Mayo-tsanaga
Type of contract: Fixed-term contract
Duration of contract: 11 months
Availability: February 2024
Under the responsibility of the FFA field supervisor, the Infrastructure and Nutrition Officer, In close
collaboration with the community mobilizers and other technical staff of the project, the
FFA/Nutrition Field Agent will ensure implementation techniques of community asset creation activities
, distribution of super cereals plus (CSB++) and monitoring of children from 6 to 23 months,
Analysis/assessment of needs, Distribution of agricultural inputs, Awareness raising and technical training
of beneficiaries, monitoring of IGA ( Income Generating Activities) and WITH (Village
Savings and Credit Association).
Missions and Responsibilities
Community Mobilization
• Ensures a good understanding of the various INTERSOS activities and establishes good relationships
with the beneficiaries and the various committees set up;
• Ensures the smooth running of the briefing of community mobilizers and supervises their work;
• Explains to the community their role and participation in the project implementation strategy, their
responsibility and respect for humanitarian principles;
• Relays questions and concerns raised by community stakeholders.
Supervision, monitoring and reporting
• Ensures weekly and monthly planning of community assets and distribution
of supergrains plus to children aged 6 to 23 months;
• Provides technical supervision of community assets;
• Controls and monitors CSB++ supplies;
• Collaborates with health centers in its area of intervention for the monitoring of children aged 6 to 23
months;
• Plan with the CSIs and the nutrition officer the distribution of CSIs to children aged 6 to 23 months;
• Ensures follow-up of referencing cases;
Main Objectives • Ensures daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of beneficiary data (scorecard
);
• Participates in the identification and technical assessment of emergency food and
nutritional security needs for INTERSOS in its area of intervention in collaboration with the
field supervisor, the Deputy project manager and the project manager;
• Ensures technical relations at the field level with local authorities and local partners;
• Ensures monitoring of the operation and rational management of the groups installed by
INTERSOS;
• Monitors and evaluates the activities of VSLAs and guides them technically;
• Participates in food distribution activities in kind and cash transfer;
• Organizes regular (weekly) technical meetings with
community mobilizers;
• Facilitates the preparation of documents supporting expenses in the field in conjunction with his
supervisor;
• Receives equipment dedicated to asset creation activities in its assigned area;
• Ensures the monitoring of incidents and safety problems reported in the intervention area;
• Participates in the management and organization of local labor teams during the distribution of
agricultural inputs;
• Helps obtain good practices from beneficiaries;
• Collect quality images of different activities and ensure their proper backup;
• Periodically writes reports (weekly & monthly) of FFA and
Nutrition activities;
• Monitors AGR activities in the field;
• Monitors the activities of community mobilizers;
• Prepares and disseminates the planning of community mobilizers;
• Assumes all other tasks entrusted by his supervisor or the Infrastructure and Nutrition Officer.
Implementation of community assets
• Controls the quality of agricultural inputs and seeds to be distributed to beneficiaries;
• Plans, organizes and supervises the field work of all nutrition, agricultural,
fish farming, forestry and cash transfer activities;
• Controls and monitors the construction of community assets and drilling according to the directives of the
supervisor and the infrastructure officer;
• Monitors all IGAs and VSLAs of the project in its area of intervention; • Ensures proper monitoring of solar and pastoral drilling for productive use for agricultural and fish farming
areas ; • Conducts training sessions for beneficiaries using participatory methods; • Reorganizes and revitalizes the project, asset and complaints management committees; • Evaluates agricultural and fish productivity in its area of intervention; • Conducts training sessions for beneficiaries using participatory methods; Data Management • Under the supervision of the MEAL Officer, contributes to data collection, investigations and
drafting reports; • Ensures the quality of the data collected and ensures that they are submitted in a timely manner
to the MEAL officer;
• Ensures that forms, lists and other paper evidence are correctly completed, signed and
filed, both physically and digitally.
Accountability
• In collaboration with the accountability focal point, ensure that all accountability tools are
implemented at all stages of the project and ensure their optimal functioning.
• Engages teams and actively reports cases of fraud or abuse;
• By keeping a register, ensures that the opinions and suggestions of beneficiaries on
project activities are taken into account.
Job requirements
Education ▪ Minimum BACC + 1 in agronomy, Forestry, Hydraulics, Hydrology,
rural engineering and good experience in FFA projects, Nutrition, establishment
of cooperatives, community associations, etc. Professional
experience ▪ Minimum 2 years of experience in a FFA Field Agent, Nutrition position; ▪ Proven experience in the field of IGAs ▪ Good knowledge in the implementation and monitoring of VSLAs, CEPs, AGRs, ▪ Experience in awareness raising and community mobilization; ▪ Good knowledge of transversal protection; ▪ Good knowledge in the field of participatory development approaches ▪ Experience in managing emergency and/or development projects and in Behavior Change Communication (BCC) ▪ Good knowledge of plant production and fish farming Language ▪ Mastery of at least one of the local language (spoken): Arabic, Kanuri, Fulfuldé, Kotoko, Mandar, Mousgoum, Hausa, Massa; etc. ▪ Proficiency in French (written and spoken). Knowledge Skills / Attitudes ▪ Skills / Attitudes Great capacity for human contact: diplomat, self-control, interest in cultural differences, availability, flexibility, ability and motivation to work in a team, ability to stress management and living in an isolated context, diligence, tenacity, determination, integrity, adaptability, sense of initiative, ease of communication, sense of responsibility, respect for the framework and teamwork . ▪ Special skills (Autonomy, Initiative and Knowledge of the area of intervention) ▪ Adherence to the principles of INTERSOS ▪ Hold a motorcycle driving license, category A (motorcycle driving is compulsory, therefore eliminatory).
