Professional Internship
Context
The Kikot-Mbebe hydroelectric development on the Sanaga River is located in the
departments of Lékié, Nyong-et-Kellé and Sanaga-Maritime. The
planned installed capacity is 500 MW. The energy produced will be evacuated by a 400 kV Very High Voltage line
, running from Mbebe to Omog, near Boumnyebel. The Kikot-Mbebe Hydro Power
Company (KHPC), 50% owned by the State of Cameroon and 50% by EDF International SAS, is
responsible for the development, construction and operation of the Project’s structures.
Preliminary construction work will begin at the end of 2025, with the aim of commissioning this
development as soon as possible.
Job Description
The intern will work closely with the project teams, the decentralized services of
MINADER/MINEPIA, rural development support projects and programs, agricultural relays,
producer organizations and the local community (potential beneficiaries of
project support).
Responsibilities
• Prepare the terms of reference for monitoring field activities;
• Contribute to the in-depth diagnosis of farms identified and selected by the project
(location, access, topography, plot size, production system, technical and economic performance);
• Participate in the development of the typology of actors and farms;
• Draw up an inventory of territorial issues (zoning) by visiting
Producer Organizations;
• Prepare and monitor the state of logistical needs of local agriculture;
• Identify and map sites for demonstration plots as well as
beneficiary communities;
• Contribute to capacity building of beneficiary actors in various training courses
on sustainable agriculture;
• Prepare and participate in specific missions in the agro-sylvo-pastoral field;
• Respond to any other task requested in the exercise of his functions by the
hierarchy (DES).

Qualifications, experience and skills required
• Have at least a Higher Technician level (Bac +2 to 3) in the field of agronomy,
Agricultural Sciences, Rural Engineering or related disciplines;
• Have at least one year of proven experience in relevant agricultural environments;
• Have experience in the development of agricultural value chains (preferably
food crops, cocoa, NTFPs, livestock) is an asset;
• Having experience in an agricultural advisory support system would be a plus;
• Having a good command of the French language (written and oral);
• Having a good working knowledge of the use of ICT;
• Having good skills in managing documentation, monitoring production
and coordinating daily activities;
• Other desirable skills: Being of good moral character and having the ability to prevent
conflicts with local and migrant populations during field activities;
• Speaking one or more local languages ​​will be an asset for interacting with
key stakeholders.
Logistics and administration
• The successful candidate will be recruited within the Environment and Social Department of
KHPC;
• The position is expected to start on October 1, 2025 for a renewable period of six months;
• Full-time position based in Evodoula, with frequent travel to all
project sites;
• Working outdoors, sometimes with staggered hours
