*AN ENVIRONMENTALIST NEEDED TO WORK WITH THE DOUALA CITY COUNCIL*

1- Main missions

• Promote environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources;

• carry out analyses of the environmental impacts of human activities in order to develop mitigation strategies;

• communicate and inform the public on critical issues such as climate change, pollution and biodiversity;

• protect ecosystems and endangered species through sustainable practices,

• promote organic farming, environmentally friendly agricultural practices, set up recycling and waste recovery systems,

• develop renewable energy, improve energy efficiency, conduct studies and actions to purify water and air; establish protected areas, monitor endangered species, prepare and conduct advocacy aimed at influencing public policies in favor of sustainability and environmental protection; monitor the implementation of environmental assessments (EES, EIES, NIES) propose innovative solutions in accordance with Cameroonian regulations and the Directives of development partners; raise awareness among students, citizens and professionals about environmental issues and possible solutions;

2- Required diploma

• The applicant must hold a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in environmental sciences, Geography, Ecology, Natural Resources Management, QHSE or in an equivalent field.

3- Experience

• A minimum of two (02) years of professional experience in the field of environmental impact management; carrying out environmental assessments.

4- Requirements and skills: understand environmental challenges, the impacts of climate change and possible solutions.

     Monitor the implementation of PGES and Environmental Specifications (CCE);

  Master the tools and techniques specific to your field of activity (waste management, energy, etc.).

     Control the compliance of the application of an integrated management system procedure (QHSE);

  Collaborate with other professionals and organizations to carry out projects.

     Passionate about environmental protection;

     Be rigorous, available, have a sense of responsibility; Demonstrate autonomy, be proactive and responsive.

5- Required age

  Be between 25 and 40 years old.

1 – Composition of the file

The file includes.

– A handwritten job application written in French or English, addressed to the Mayor of the City of Douala, stamped at the current rate (01 tax stamp and 01 municipal stamp),

– A Curriculum Vitae (CV),

– A cover letter,

– A photocopy of the birth certificate dated less than three (03) months;

– A photocopy of the reference diploma dated less than three (03) months.

Copies of supporting documents for professional experience,

A photocopy of the National Identity Card or valid passport.

2 – Deadline and place of submission

Complete files will be received every working day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from May 16 to 30, 2025 at the Urban Community Mail Service.

The Mayor of the City will communicate the final results by press and posting.
