JOB OFFER – DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
Reporting to: Information Systems and Development Department
– ​​General Management (Yaoundé)
Your main missions:
Within our department, you will be responsible for the management, optimization and security of
our data assets. Your main missions will be the following:

 DBMS Management and Strategy: Make implementation choices, configure
Database Management Systems (DBMS), and design operating standards.
 Maintenance and Performance: Ensure the administration, maintenance, and optimization of
existing databases to ensure their performance and permanent availability.
 Security and Business Continuity: Manage and optimize backup,
restoration, and archiving processes. Ensure data security and capacity planning.
 Monitoring and Support: Test and validate DBMS, ensure regular technology monitoring, and
provide high-level technical support.
 Documentation and Compliance: Write and keep technical documentation up to date.
Your daily activities:
 Installation, maintenance, and performance monitoring of databases.
 Backup, restoration, and capacity planning.
 Proactive monitoring to ensure ongoing data operability and security.
Key activities
 Installation, configuration and maintenance of DBMS;
 Supervision of the operation and performance of databases;

 Capacity planning and resource optimization;
 Access management, audits and intrusion protection devices.
Desired profile
Education:
 Bac+5 / Master in Computer Science, Data Management or Information Technology;
 Professional certification in database administration or cybersecurity
(asset).
Experience:
 Minimum 3 years in a banking environment, or
 5 years in the IT field, or
 3 years in information systems security.
Required technical skills:
 Proficiency in DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.);
 Proficiency in Shell scripts (Windows, Unix, MVS);
 Solid knowledge of information systems, security and cybersecurity;
 Proficiency in technical English (reading and writing).
Personal qualities and soft skills:
 Rigor, organizational skills and excellent stress management.
 Teacher with a keen sense of listening and communication to train and
raise awareness among teams.
 Diplomacy and the ability to adopt appropriate interpersonal behavior.
 Good knowledge of the challenges and professions in the banking sector.
 Knowledge of cyber defense and crisis management, as well as norms and standards in
database administration.
