Drilling Operations Trainee

Job Purpose/Summary

The Drilling Operations Trainee works under the close supervision of the Supervisor. She maximizes his / her learning experience as per the training program defined by the company. She assists the entire team, works with some equipment, and occasionally operates them.

Main Mission/Result Area

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Participate in the various operations on the rig as per tasks assigned according to the training program such as but not limited to: o Clean up spilled oil by bailing it into barrels. o Keep equipment clean and in good condition. o Unscrew or tighten pipes, casing, tubing, and pump rods, using hand, pipe wrenches and power tongs. o Prepare the tubing bundle. o Keep pipe deck and main deck area clean and tidy. o Manually handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. o Regularly inspect equipment, structures, or materials and notify supervisors of abnormal situations. o Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. o Help the operator to perform inventory of the equipment, spare parts.
• Participate in an online training program proposed by the company and demonstrate progress in learning sessions.
• Understand and be able to implement the company’s policies, procedures and standards.
• Fill incident reporting card, regularly.

HSSE Accountabilities

• Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (HSSE Reporting cards, Incident reporting, site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE Meetings, events and trainings) to maintain and improve Company HSSE culture and performance.
• Understand the emergency procedure and the related requirement.
• Lead as a role model to improve on HSSE engagement within direct team, section, and departments.

The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned

Competence & Requirements

• M. Sc. In any Engineering or Technical field (Drilling, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical …)
• B.Sc. In any Engineering or Technical field (Drilling, Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical …)
• Not more than 5 years of working experience.
• The BOSIET certification offers an advantage.
• Proficient with MS office (Excel, Word, Power point….)
• Good command in communication skills (listening, writing, and reading) both French and English.
