IT APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST

Description:

IT Applications Specialist (Cat 8)

Guarantee, under the responsibility of the IT Manager, the proper functioning of the Information System, both on the availability and on the reliability and evolution of the entire application park of the company.

What will you do?

Technical and user support

1. Provide level 1 technical support to users,

2. Escalate Level 2 and 3 incidents to the Group Support Team,

3. Write and maintain functional documentation for the resolution and processing of incidents and user requests,

4. Assist users during project acceptance testing.

Technical translation of functional requirements

5. Participate in the detailed functional analysis of user needs,

6. Study the opportunities and technological feasibility of applications,

7. Develop and write the technical specifications, based on functional specifications.

Data restitution and user training

8. Develop “universes” and relationships,

9. Integrate new data into existing reporting,

10. Ensure that data are presented according to user needs,

11. Provide user training in the use of decision-making tools.

Application Security and Governance

12. Manage user access to the various applications and carry out the control of authorizations,

13 . Ensure backups are performed for both applications and databases,

14. Ensure data recovery and operational recovery of databases and applications in the event of an incident (disaster recovery)

Technology watch

15. Ensure a technological watch in order to maintain the adequacy of the specificities of the applications to the needs of the company.

16. Monitor and control the version evolutions of existing applications to make them evolve,

17 Ensure up-to-date documentation on database structure, applications, and operating and production procedures.

18. Propose and present new products or new versions to the Management.

What will be your contribution?

Skills: BAC + 3/4 in a School of Computer Engineering.

Experience and Qualifications:

3 years in an IT services company or in a company

Special requirements

Good knowledge of information systems, applications and technologies used in the company as well as the main computer languages and operating systems,

Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning or integrated software packages) is an asset: Oracle E-Business Suite, Sage X3
Excellent knowledge of databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle

Good command of development methods and tools (UML, Merise etc.)

Good command of static reporting tools such as Business Object (BO), Oracle Toad

Excellent command of the SQL query language.

Certification in Microsoft or Oracle would be advantageous

Good writing, analysis and synthesis skills.

Required skills:
