Responsibilities
Our client, a large company specializing in Mining Extraction, is looking for a Construction Engineer based in Douala for the development of its activities in Cameroon.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
Responsible for the completion of the construction of the MSI, tow road, IRF and other infrastructure projects in accordance with the company’s requirements, on time and within budget.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
– Supervise and validate field studies (topography, geotechnical, hydrology) for all infrastructure components.
– Support the preparation of specifications, tender processes, contractor selection and contract finalization.
– Oversee the construction of the MSI, Towpath, IRF and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with budget and schedule.
– Coordinate with stakeholders, including local authorities, communities and regulatory bodies.
– Ensure alignment with ESIA consultants for infrastructure projects in accordance with corporate requirements.
Educational Requirements
– Degree in Civil Engineering with 10-15 years of relevant experience.
Required Experience
– Proven project management experience in the development, construction and execution of major civil engineering projects.
– Strong experience in managing large-scale civil engineering projects (approximately 50 MUSD).
Additional Requirements
– Proven ability to effectively manage budgets, deadlines and safe project delivery.
– Pragmatic, results-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Fluent in French and English.
