Responsibilities

Our client, a large company specializing in Mining Extraction, is seeking a Port Operations Coordinator based in Douala for the development of its activities in Cameroon.

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Coordinate with engineering firms on the design, construction supervision and commissioning of the port. Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation of the port after its commissioning, in accordance with the company’s requirements, budget and schedule.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

– Technical Coordination: Work closely with engineering firms to ensure that port designs meet project standards; review and validate technical plans.

– Construction Supervision: Oversee port construction or improvements, conduct site inspections and address on-site issues to ensure quality and compliance. – Port Commissioning: Lead the commissioning process, ensure all systems are operational and compliant with safety standards, and manage the transition to operations. – Operations Management: Manage the daily operations of the port after commissioning, coordinate with the railway team and ensure efficiency and compliance. – Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and monitor budgets and schedules to ensure project delivery within scope, cost and time. Educational Requirements – Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Required Experience – 8-10 years of experience in port construction and operations, preferably in the mining sector. Additional Requirements – Port management certifications to manage complex construction and operations demands. – Good technical expertise in port engineering, construction standards and regulations. – Strong leadership, communication and safety-oriented skills. – Fluent in French and English (oral and written). Candidates interested in this call for applications are invited to send a CV (PDF version in name + job title format), via the following address: cameroon.office@hsd-melt.com / or https://mhd.hsd-melt.com specifying in the subject of the email: Port Operations Coordinator no later than September 8, 2025.
