To ensure global food security, Good Neighbors works in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP) in several African countries to combat food insecurity. In Cameroon, Good Neighbors is working in partnership with WFP as part of the Food Crisis Emergency Response Project (PULCCA) to address immediate food insecurity needs in areas targeted by the project.
1 Field monitoring agents at divisional level in five departments of the Far North region (Mayo Sava, Mayo Tsanaga, Logone & Chari, Mayo Danay and Diamaré (05 positions to be filled).
FIELD MONITORING MANAGER
Position Summary:
The Field Monitoring Manager will contribute to the establishment of monitoring and training of targeted beneficiaries for agriculture and livelihoods/food security support activities, ensuring ensure that international technical recommendations and procedures are respected. He/she carries out all activities with a high standard and, if necessary, suggests adjustments or improvements to ensure a high standard and better implementation. He/she ensures follow-up with the training organization as well as with the targeted farmers to guarantee the effectiveness of the activities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
List of main tasks:
• Support the SERA manager and the project manager in collecting accurate data from the field and participate in data analysis.
• Contribute to capacity assessment, evaluation, baseline and impact surveys
• Contribute to the design and establishment of selection criteria for communities and targeted beneficiaries.
• Implement all field activities at the department level in accordance with Good Neighbors technical requirements and donor financial criteria and in compliance with activity planning.
• Ensure continuous collection of information and contribute to the analysis of the quality of the activities carried out.
Implementation and operational monitoring
• Participate in all capacity building training sessions for beneficiaries by preparing training and PowerPoint presentations in order to take an active part in these activities.
• Participate in beneficiary profiling, registration and evaluation of baseline and endline activities by conducting technical review and advising on data collection tools.
• Participate in all assessments, investigations and studies relating to project review and ensure that they are conducted in accordance with protocol.
• Carry out the activities for which he is responsible, in compliance with the deadlines and technical specifications that have been set.
• Use management, monitoring and evaluation tools in activities – evaluation formats, monitoring sheets, harvest report, etc.
• Monitor activities related to agriculture, food security and livelihoods on the advice of the project manager.
• Uses the methods and tools developed for the implementation of activities
• Ensure regular control and monitoring of activities with beneficiaries through regular field visits using monitoring tools
• Prevent any difficulties linked to the implementation of activities and facilitate the resolution of problems
• Ensure good analysis of the local environment and understanding the needs in order to adapt activities accordingly
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and quality standards related to its activities
• Manage activities and supervise the work of community mobilizers
• Contribute and participate in project monitoring and evaluation processes by documenting best practices, lessons learned, beneficiary interviews, case studies and capturing photos/videos in the field.
Reporting/communication
• Present to the population and local authorities the nature of the field operations and create awareness about the project activities
• Ensure documentation of all activities with photos, videos and case studies at field level and participate in writing reports on the progress of the activities for which he/she is responsible.
• Transmit to the project manager any information on the security context or any event that could have potential consequences on the activities of Good Neighbors and the security of the team.
• Collect information for case studies, success stories and lessons learned reports.
• Ensure the secure collection and archiving of all project-related documents, such as reports, receipts and contracts.
• Communicate with other team members on the results of activities
• Present to the population and local authorities the nature of operations on the ground and raise awareness of project activities.
NOTE: This list of key tasks is not exhaustive.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in agricultural engineering, agricultural sciences or any other relevant field, with at least two years of continuous experience in agriculture, implementing activities related to food security and means of subsistence.
• Previous experience in a busy multi-sector environment, in a refugee context, is an asset.
• Knowledge and practical experience of value chain development.
• Good technical skills and knowledge in food safety, agronomy and agriculture.
• Experience working with farmer organizations.
• Experience in capacity building of farmer groups.
• Experience with participatory training methodologies.
• Strong presentation skills and proficiency in Power Point, Excel and MS Word.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) in French and local languages of the Far North.
• Team spirit, extreme flexibility and ability to deal with stressful situations.
• Excellent reporting skills and good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of at least one local language of the Far North region is an additional asset.
• Cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to drive a motorcycle and possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Strong communication skills, accustomed to speaking in front of an audience and able to work dynamically with adults and farmers.
• Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Good interpersonal skills, analytical skills, communication, cultural sensitivity, negotiation skills and diplomacy.
